Title: P07 SA Grit - how to get it out?
Post by: briang2ad on June 17, 2017, 10:17:48 AM
With the gun half way assembled, I noticed that the sear grit is all in the spring and sear rotating - NOT in the sear/hammer interface.  Does the CGW sear spring help in this?  IS there something to polish to get this out?  Thanks.

Before anything else: lube and shoot.

I presume the slide is removed for your test?  If so then try putting the slide removal lever back into the fore/aft position.

Also try holding the hammer all the way back as you work the trigger  so it clears the sear.

So exactly what did you polish already??
Did you Stone sand and polish the frame and the side of the hammer?

I have a P07 that was that way.

I polished every one of the tiny spots that engage during a single action pull with 2000 grit paper and put a dab of slide glide lite on the top and bottom of the sear spring to help stop any crunching sound.

The thing that helped the most, however, was reducing the width of my roller.  When I measured all the parts that sit on that pin and compared them to a different P07, my roller was a bit wider and everything (including the sear) was extremely tight laterally.  After reducing the roller width, everything on that pin moved a little more freely and the SA felt much smoother.  I will say that this is probably not the right thing to do, and might be a bad idea, but it worked for me.

Then again, if you really want a nice single action, the CGW hammer with the extra heavy sear spring is amazing!

Thanks gents - good input.

BTW - I have already polished the hammer/frame sides of interface - standard fare for a CZ 75, and when I saw the thread I followed suit.  Right now, waiting for CGW RPTRS, and Sear spring set.

I suppose by roller, you mean the part that attaches to the FPB lifting arm?  I suppose a little sanding (600,1500) and polishing might help that also.

Yes, $88 would work on the hammer, but I'd like to keep close to stock for NOW.

Any and every metal-to-metal contact point should be polished. that also includes the retaining pins and the inside of any part held by a retaining pin.
