Title: EAA witness family
Post by: bnolsen on June 25, 2017, 12:44:09 PM
Just posting a shot of my 2 10mm EAA witness pistols in wonder finish.  I bought these early 2000s.  Haven't shot them since the mid 2000s until just recently.

I have 22# wolff springs and 40 barrels for both.  Just ordered Henning recoil rods for both.

I've kept the full size at 10mm with the 22# spring.  It's been running flawless and sits in a safe in my nightstand.  Loaded with alternating black talons and hydrashocks.

I did conceal carry the compact for a short while but it has feed reliability problems.  It currently has the 40 barrel in it.
The recoil buffer in the compact is shot.  I hope I can get those reliability issues fixed as I really like how these pistols feel in the hand.

I bought a used hk usp 40 compact to replace it for carry...nice pistol bad trigger (topic for a different forum).

Oh, will a safariland gls pro 578 size 1 regular holster work with both of these (for range, not carry!)?

Very nice.  I like the cleaner looks of the older witnesses without the accessory rail.

Very cool, thanks for sharing.

I'm plan to add one of the all metal Witness pistols to my collection at some point.

They shoot very well but these older large frame pistols seem to be a challenge to spring properly.  Probably some combination of a henning rod + double spring system would do the trick, if that even existed.

At the moment it seems like I have the compact running okay with a 40 barrel, henning rod, #22 wolff spring and home depot brass washer.

I thought the large frame was okay but I had one 10mm round nose dive after I put a henning rod in that one.  Probably need to up the mag springs.
