Title: Better quality factory spec trigger return spring, PLEASE
Post by: Stopsign32v on July 02, 2017, 10:54:32 PM
I installed the CGW light weight trigger return spring and I'm not very happy with the weaker reset of the trigger over my other factory P07. But I do like the idea of knowing it won't break like the factory ones are known to do.

Would it be possible for CGW to look into higher strength factory spec trigger return springs?

I had one of the "original" trigger springs  break On a CZ 75,  and then bought a lighter TS and didn't care for the lack of feel and the noticably lighter SA.pull;   so I bought the more updated stock spring from CZC.  That spring has held up fine.
The original spring tangs weren't shaped to fit in the frames pring slot .  the newer one was and was visibly more substantial.

I don't know if CZC has a newer/stronger TS for your P07,  but it won't hurt to ask.

I would also be interested in a higher tension music wire spring

I'd much rather take a more positive and forceful reset over a slight lightness in trigger pull.

In fact a factory trigger spring is AMAZING with the CGW short reset setup. I really think you guys are missing the ball on the positive reset option. I don't know how hard they are to make but possibly a range of options. I'd even like to try a stronger trigger return spring than factory just to see.

My 75B  TS broke somewhere around 20K rds,  as did the first slide stop.  I can't vouch for the P07,  but parts do wear and break.

If this is a SD pistol buy two stock and replace it every 5-6000rds,  until you find something better.
Have you asked if any other P07 owners have broken a TS?  Ask in the P07 forum.

The thicker the wire used in a spring, the shorter the lifespan.   The better the material, the longer the lifespan.  This is part of the rational behind the CGW spring.

As an aside, it's not the trigger return spring that generates the "force" of the reset, it's the tension of the trigger bar support spring.  However, the stock TRS will generate a stronger return, but with either spring you can't outrun the reset with your finger.

Run the one you like best.  Good to have choices.

So bringing this thread back from the dead...

Eemann tech out of Estonia does make standard and 10% EXTRA power music wire trigger return springs, and I am going to buy a few and test them out, and probably swap the CGW spring into the S2 where it belongs, and the high power into my P-07

Took 3 weeks and a trip to the post office but I got em!

I put one of the high-power in a CGW pro-kit P-07, I  wanted the SA and DA to be closer, and it did the job splendidly, almost makes the break disappear

The RP-TRS just made it feel too different from all my other guns, and for some reason I did not like that, though if it was for competition I would go back to the RP for sure
