Let's get back to talking about P-07's and P-09's which is where this section of the Forum started.
Ya Ya that's the ticket. 8)

I'll play! I have two steel targets on steel posts in my back yard, 50 yards off my deck. One is a 12 1/2" X 20" half silhouette and one is a 9" round plate.
Most days when I get home from work, I'll say "ONE SHOT!" and take my favorite CZ (P-09) out back and take one shot, free hand. If I hit, it's a good day. I usually hit about 4 out of 5.
My P-07 is the one of five CZ 9mms that I have that I think I shoot the worst. A couple of weeks ago, I went and dug it out of my truck to run a little ammo through it.
I hit 5 for 5 standing, free hand on the 12 1/2" X 20". That's actually a little better than I normally do.
You just can't underestimate the little P-07. Great guns!
OK, that's all I got.....
-
Come on, you know the new baby gets all the attention. David
-
I try not to have ideas - they frighten people...
I am very fond of my P-09, and it works perfectly. I need to get it out more.

We did combine things a bit - we had a zillion subforums when I took over the board, and it tended to make searching very difficult. This was yet another compromise, and like all compromises...it works imperfectly.
-
I know the "new gun" gets all the attention but gosh I am sick of hearing about it.
P-07 and P-09 are underrated firearms for sure and those that constantly bring up the consistent trigger pull of any striker fired gun against a DA/SA has never spent much time behind one or put in any effort to learn it.
If you like the "sproiiinng" sound and feel of a striker over a smooth DA pull followed by a series of light, crisp DA pulls than the other gun is best for you.
I had my P-07 Milled for a red dot sight and the first indoor match I shot with it I came in 4 out of 16, and I am an old guy with bad eyes.
-
THAT'S IT, THAT'S IT,, now you guys are on a roll !!!
Comparing a striker-fired to a hammer fired !!!
That's like the kids nowadays comparing their rice burning cars to a good old fashioned 70s muscle car. The former you get a loud buzzing in your ears.....The LATTER , YOU GET A HEART POUNDING RUMBLE...how'd I do ?
-
Let's get back to Old School !!!
Come on who's with me ??
old school ,old school, old school !!!!

Don't go too old school. Then we've got to start knocking plastic vs. steel. [emoji85][emoji86][emoji87][emoji12][emoji12]
-
Pfft, when guys bring up the debate to me about modern striker-fire pistols having a consistent trigger pull for every shot, I just bring up my good ol' DAO's. Hey, it's a consistent trigger pull for every shot! [emoji23]
-
What is a PC-10 ;D

Striker fired guns are lowest common denominator tools. Sometimes you need a tool that anyone can use without thought, research or training. IMHO, that's not the kind of thing I can build a hobby around. I can't relate to a guy that wants to buy a plastic pistol that works "ok" and then tells everyone else how it's perfect. I hope CZ sells a billion P-10's, enough that they get their own forum so I can avoid it. I also hope they continue to make and develop really nice hammer fired pistols. Otherwise, I'll move along to another brand.

I volunteered (no draft at that time) for the US Army back in 1975.
One day we were about to do something particularly stupid and uncomfortable and I asked the Team Leader, an E5/Sgt. why? He told me that was the best way to do it. I disagreed and outlined a way that was quicker and required less effort.
He looked at med, in front of the rest of the fire team, and asked me if I thought my suggestion made good sense. I replied that it did or I wouldn't have suggested it. He smiled and said, "Well, in that case, we're not going to do it your way." We proceeded to take longer, get dirtier, and end up with a less satisfactory result.
It was along about that time that I knew when my 4 years was up, I was saying good bye to the US Army.
The above was a way to say that sometimes, no matter how good an idea is, there are folks out there who just won't let you do it. They've got to throw obstacles in the way and cause problems, or they're just not happy.
Good luck with it. I agree completely.

Wow, M1 that was great.
Just about a year ago I sold my Springfield XD mod 2 subcompact because when I saw the
CZ P-07 I absolutely fell in love, I knew it was the right thing to do. With the help of this forum I've turned it into an awesome shooting pistol. Since then I bought the P-09 I did the same thing to that.
I can honestly say I don't believe I will ever get rid of either one of them, they are just great guns, one of the best purchases I've ever made.

I just rescued a P-07 from the local Gander Mtn that's closing. It was packaged with a generic tac light for $385 + tax.
I also put money down on a P10c a few days ago. It should be interesting to see which one I prefer.

nope, I won't do that.
The only reason to not buy a P-07 is that is priced too much higher than all the other P-07s you already own. O0

I had a chance to run my P07 in .40 along side my 40P today. Both functioned perfectly and the 40P was a lot of fun to shoot. But, the P07 just felt right. The fit in the hand, the texture, the trigger and just about everything else added up to a very sweet shooter. I'll probably always keep the 40P and both it and the P07 are fully Cajunized. For some reason, I seemed to have to work less to be accurate with the P07 today than I did the 40P. I need to get my 9mm P07 out to the range in the near future too. That's another gun that makes me feel like a decent shooter.

One of the P09's I bought (the .40 S&W) had a light with it. It was labeled "CZ" on it, but it's the same light as those $40 Nebo lights sold at Walmart.

I think I'm going to pick up another P-07 one of these days.
Of my 75B, SP-01 Tactical, P-09, P-07 and 75D, my P-09 is my favorite to shoot. I was thinking about buying another P-09 and putting an optic on it (in the next year or so). Now, I'm thinking it will be another P-07 and I'll hold off on the optic for a little while.
I have my concealed carry permit so I leave my current P-07 in my truck. When my wife and I go for a walk out here in the country, I always just grab my P-09 because I keep it in a place in the house that's easy to get to.
It honestly feels a little too big to carry. Plus, I shoot my P-07 almost as well.
I'll probably look for an FDE P-07 next spring.

Back to the OP.
I suggested this when they were just kicking things off and we were utterly swamped by the P10C crowd.
Having them lumped together makes no sense. All they share is base material and mags. Heck - why is the Phantom in with the Shadow for that matter?
The guns are fundamentally different and this screams for their own forum to wax on and on about their own issues. It is terribly frustrating trying to run down information on the P series hammer guns. Hence, people posting new (old stock) issues/questions.
Please gents, lets break this up!

I totally agree about this should be separate sections of the Forum.

Indeed, maybe a Striker Fired forum. That way, I could skip it altogether! No disrespect to the striker crowd....

OK, I'll be happy to add a few words about the hammer guns...
Having successfully competed in bullseye matches with polymer hammer fired P-09 and P-07 CZ's, I can say they are still my favorite polymer pistol. But I had to warm up to them over a bunch of rounds and several go rounds of CGW parts. And lots of Sugru and JB-Weld. Yes, I also have a striker fired CZ polymer pistol now, but the trigger pull is so different from the P-09/07 that I cannot just pick it up and shoot it well. After I got the P-09/07 pistols modified to fit my hands, I was able to shoot them very well. I can still pick up the P-09 or P-07 after not shooting one for a few weeks, and shoot it very well after just a few rounds, or some dry fire the night before the range trip. I can't do that with the striker yet. I am confident that CGW will take care of my needs for a lighter, smoother trigger pull. I can shoot the P-09/07 pretty darn well almost every time I take them out to the range.
The accuracy potential of the P-09/07 is phenomenal, even for bullseye matches. But the weight is on the low side for single hand standing bullseye matches on a windy day in West Texas. And the holes are small compared to a 97. I've gone back to the 97 as a centerfire bullseye gun, not because the 97 is more accurate (they are very close), but because the 97 is better suited for that discipline than any light weight 9mm pistol, even the extensively demonstrated as very accurate P-09 or P-07. (I think the accuracy potential of the P-10C striker gun will equal the P-07 once the trigger pull is optimized, just like I did with CGW parts in the P-09/07.)
By this time next year, I expect the striker gun improvements will make the CZ striker a great option for folks who aren't limiting themselves to pistols with a hammer and sear. Or, in other words, by this time next year, I expect the folks that like their P-09/07 pistols will still have them and love them, but they may have also tried the alternate CZ offering and concluded that there is a place for a really good, rugged, very accurate, simple, striker fired CZ also. Specifically, for those new shooters who aren't interested in or familiar with a DA/SA hammer fired pistol and would otherwise be lost to ... heaven forbid, a G19!

For me personally, I would be excited about a single stack version of a hammer sear CZ pistol and maybe even a CZ striker fired version. Not all pistols needed are comp./range versions. Thin, low bore axis and with CZ 75 characteristic grip angle carry pistols "with CZ support and options" would have me looking for my wallet.
-
I second the vote for a poly framed single stack DA/SA small pistol from CZ.

I shot my P-07 in a GADPA Match yesterday. (http://gadpa.wildapricot.org/).
I shot in the Concealed Carry division. I finished 14/37 in my division and 34/74 overall. A 10 second hit when I nipped the head of a non shoot cost me seven places overall but that is how it goes.
It was a brutally hot day and I was also running a squad as a Safety Officer and shooting also. I had also spent five hours Saturday morning helping to set up for the match and I was a little stiff and sore from carrying walls and steel and driving rebar.
My accuracy was good but I need to shoot a little faster but still as one of the oldest shooters participating, I will take it.
I give most of the credit to the smooth shooting P-07 hammer gun!

Another great P-07 report from an old guy!! Which reminds me, I'm going to the doctor in an hour. A few days in the mountains got to me. :) :)

That's awesome! I know all those things really add up. Just think how you'll do next time when you're fresh.
If I know I'm going to do some shooting on a Friday afternoon, I'll skip coffee in the afternoon. I only drink soda on the weekends and I can definitely feel a pronounced 'jerk' if I've had a couple.

As long as the stock is long enough that my pinky finger isn't resting on a thick magazine floor plate I'm in; otherwise I'd pass.

So we are still stuck in a sub forum with a gun that has little to do with the P07/09?
