Woo-hoo! I was recommended to get a throat reamer and to go through Manson. It came today! Now I have to get my dummy round loaded so I can get all my 75's standardized for my loads.
This is part of a little acquisition plan I have for tools to restore CZ 75's. Next month I'll be getting the tools for crowning barrels. While these are meant for enabling restorations, I also get to use them for my current pistols. Win win! As always, a huge thanks to all the helpful members here who take the time to share tutorials and mentor young bucks and CZ newbies. I owe so many of you immensely for your help and kindness. More to come soon! [emoji3]

I've thought about doing that but just never get around to it.
I'm interested in reading how it works out for you.
Depending on your results I might just go ahead and order one, too.
Good luck with it.
Pictures/explanation expected, of course.

I definitely will share results and how to. After I do a few I'll try and make a video for the tutorials.

I think the $40 I spent on my Manson reamer is one of the best investments I've made in years. Here's a link to to my own post on this topic some time back. I found making GO and NO-GO gauges useful. Photos are in this thread.

Thanks dlidster, that's a good resource. I'm working my way to throat Reaming in my SP-01 touch up, I'll definitely try out those gauge if I can find my xtp rounds I bought a while back.

I may end up getting my S2 reamed if I can't get my loads longer than 1.10.

I was gonna do this a year ago. Started out on my P-09, WRONG IDEA! Those barrels laugh at that reamer, steel is TOO hard in the barrel, as is my P-07, and so I gave up on that project and simply load accordingly. O0

I didn't realize they made those barrels that much harder. Hope I don't run into that.

No reamer tried to bite my P-09 9mm barrel. Good!! I reamed a shotgun's forcing cones for a double O/U years ago. Regardless, I have wondered how tight and short (or long) chambers are in P-09's and other CZ's. I change seating depth where applicable for different nose styles and overall length (OAL or COAL). My 9mm P-09 does well with jacketed .355 or cast .357 for one lead projectile but I shifted the topic gears. I do not know or remember the barrel twist of the standard (factory) P-09 barrel. I still have no plans to fix the P-09 (e.g. trigger pull) but it could be a lighter pull for range/target work (not a duty or EDC carry).

I think you will find the P series near impossible to ream due to the coating that significantly increases the hardness of the barrel. I am hoping that SPO1Shadow chimes in soon. He does this allot and will know which can and which can't. Oh Shadow, where are you? :D

Yeah, the surface finish is likely the culprit. I received a short-chambered AR barrel that was nitrided a couple years back. It required a carbide reamer to even make a scratch.

Neat, i look forward to hear more about it as thing progress.

My P07 and P09 .40 S&W seem to have no issues with longer bullets (they accept/run ammo that chokes a Beretta 90-Two in .40 S&W that my younger son used to shoot - still has it, but doesn't shoot it after the CZ P07 and CZ 75 SA spoiled him with better groups).
My P09 9MM is an example of the short throat CZ "issue." It will not chamber ammo that my CZ 75 Compact eats just fine. I guess it'll have to stay the same, but I might be tempted to work on the CZ 75's some day.

So, have you tried it?

After a weekend of wife to do's I finally got to Reaming my first barrel tonight. You can't really tell from the pic but it's all done for my classic 75 Compact! Worked well. I have 4 more barrels to do, so I'll get the hang of it a little more and post a how to. Thanks to all the members who helped me learn how!

I don't think anyone is able to ream the P09 and P07 barrels. I have heard especially the Urban Grey barrels just won't budge and break tools.
If anyone is doing them please let me know. My P09 won't accept 147's at 1.100. Like 80% of them pass and then a huge hang up.
I would like to get a Shadow, P01 and a P09 done.

I heard you need a special carbide version. I'd call CZ Custom.

Automatic Accuracy and I believe Patriot Defense can.

Excellent, I was hoping you had found out some additional options. Have you sent yours off yet?

Nope! My S2 is shooting 147grs at 1.095 pretty comfortably. I don't know if I really need to ream it since I don't think 1.095 is that short, especially since I'm only loading at 4.1gr, well below the max, to hit minor PF.

Oh good deal, glad to hear that 147 bullet ended up working well for you without needing to ream the throat.
