I was watching Hunting University on OLN this morning, and as you may know, CZ-USA is one of thier sponsors. They were showing a prototype of a new rifle that will "be mass produced in a few months." It is called the "Ultimate Hunter", and seems to be different than the 527 Hunter on the Czech CZ page. This was stainless and had more of a traditional stock (with some nice checkering designs; sort of like the Winchester Model 70). They did not specify the calibre, but from the way the deer dropped, I think it is safe to say that it is in the 550 family, and not the 527. The president of CZ-USA said a few words about it as well.

I would love to see a CZ sporter semi auto based on the CZ 2000 AK style rifle, preferably in .223, 7.62x39mm, .308, and 7.62x54R. THAT would trip my trigger beyond belief.

When I did the CZ survey, a 7.62x39 semi-auto sporter was my top suggestion.

Survey wouldn't come up for me - they wouldn't listen to me, anyway.

I've already got a semi-auto Sporter in 7.62x39. It's called a Ruger Mini-30. CZ would probably make a prettier one, though.

Problem is if CZ made a semi auto anything, it would have to be finished in the USA due to the new import laws for semi automatics. I would love to ahve a VZ58 but that ain't happening anytime soon.
