Title: Sling for Scorpion
Post by: JLla84 on October 27, 2017, 12:10:52 PM
Hey guys, looking for a sling, I'm no operator and am just looking for a simple sling, maybe the Magpul sling... but am new to this all together and not sure how they mount, do i need anything special? or just order the sling and it will clip right to the mounts on the gun and good to go!?

Thanks for your help, there is so much out there and its very overwhelming, going right to the people that know best from having used them...

I often use a standard 2 point sling attached at front through a kyring and to factory back sling loop. it is fast and easy I like it. I use a Condor speedy sling 2 point. Fast to adjust and able to use it on many platforms.

So when I find a sling I like, do i need to also pick up attachment points?

Depending on the type of sling in most cases yes. As there is not sling slot on the front end of the weapon in the beginning the scorpion came with a key ring on the front. Some don't like the key ring. It can be silenced with some duct tape. It works and everyone has key rings laying around somewhere. you can also use para cord to make a strong silent sling attachments.

find the sling you want, blue force vcas or magpul ms2 and then get you some QD mounts and you're good to go

I've tried so many slings over the years I've lost count and forgotten many of them.  In the end I always wind up with a two point sling of some kind.  I just got this one from Amazon, but haven't even put it on my carbine, yet, so I can't tell you how well it works.  At least I shouldn't need to put any key rings on it.

That looks perfect enough for my purposes....

Looks like those attachments should fit right onto the stock mounts!? and for $20, and amazon prime, can't go wrong....doesnt fit? free return... fits, win!

So update....

that Amazon 2 point sling came in with the HK style clips..... the clips do work with the existing mounts... whoever the sling itself is a mess to manipulate... it is definitely not ideal for quick adjustments and may end up returning it....

I hate it when that happens, but I have done it many times myself. Keep us posted to what you end up with.

I really am just trying to avoid having to add $45 in QD mounts such as the Parker Mountain ones.... I can only run a sling at one of the match days i go to... the other ones requiring flagging and bagging (wahhhhh)

so im kind of trying to be cheap about it but at $20 from amazon prime, i suspected this could happen...

I should just get the magpul sling and order 2 hk clips...

I understand completely it took me a bit to settle on my condor speedy 2 point. That doesn't mean others will like it. So many don't like the key ring for front attachment, and some don't like paracord to do the same. You have to get what you know will please you, and function within your needs. So many choices it makes it tuff I went the cheapest route I could, because the scorpion has cost me so much in parts n accessories already. Plus I shoot a lot out of mine so ammo is more my priority now.

Are you guys mounting the rear on the left side or right side?
Title: Re: Sling for Scorpion
Post by: akuser47 on November 01, 2017, 08:07:00 PM
I'm right handed so I mount my sling both front and rear to the scorpions left side so it can rest at my chest and with my sling can be pulled to ready fast enough for me. Are you in Ohio in or near Hancock county. I can meet you within reason that is LoL, and you can test my setup and see if you like it? You never know what you like until its slung and you test the pull to ready the gun.

Florida, thanks for trying to help. I ordered a MagPul MS4 and will end up grabbing some Parker Mountain Qd's

Just now I'm not sure which side to mount the rear

Check out QD sling mounts from Parker Mountain Machine. http://www.parkermountainmachine.com/store/c89/PMM_CZ_Scorpion_EVO_S1_Parts..html

An HK hook should work on the factory rear sling mount. My sling hasn't shown up yet that's what I plan to use. I usually hate 1 point  sling BGS but I'm going to try it on this tiny gun. I put it 100 rounds through mine today. About half of it suppressed. It was a blast to shoot.  I really like the Tailhook Brace. Feels just like a stock to me. I'm not sure I'm going to SBR it.

Take a hard look at this safety too. It's awesome!  https://hbindustries.net/store/shop/cz-scorpion-evo-3-ak-style-safety-selector/

Thanks for showing off your evo. I had HBI put the ak safety when they drilled my trigger, its awesome, and i love it...

I ordered the ms4 sling with qd, and am going with parker mountain mounts... did you put them both on the left side of the gun?

I don?t have a sling on mine yet. I was going to try use a single point and HK snap. The sling is on back order.  I ordered a Midwest Industries rail and it has built in QD?s.

How's that yeti wurks grip vs stock? Worth the $50??

Probably not. I like it but it was expensive. I bought it because I wanted parts to count towards 922r for SBRing the pistol. I?d suggest the Apex it?s less than 1/2 the price.

I really like the Condor Speedy 2 Point sling. Simple, easy to use and adjust. At my LGS, they are $20, which is cheaper than eBay or Amazon. While I think Magpul has some cool slings, they're just too "busy" for me. Personally, I tend to avoid anything single point, or with the word "bungee" in the name.

I ended up trying that amazon sling someone posted but it was not very intuitive and it got returned... the clips did end up working with the factory mounts but it was not very fluid to run....

i ordered the magpul ms4 and the f/r parker mountain qd mounts... they should be here early next week.

I?ve been keeping up with this thread cuz i want a sling for my Scorpion.

i wanna do the Parker Mountain Q/D points, but heard a few reports of them breaking the polymer loops off.
But the Yeti Wurks Front QD point option is too extensive of a mod for me.

So... still torn.

I use a Magpul MS3 sling in a single point setup. (though I can convert it to 2 point as needed).

I connect it using a Magpul QR adapter on the rear behind the optic.

I tried mine and it works well but it's really right in the way while shooting. That's why I ordered the BFG.

Kinda invented my own with spare parts and webbing I had laying around.  Ultra light weight and don't scratch stuff up. Can conceal carry it and use it at a low ready since the buckles slide. And added a quick release buckle too. And costed nuttin lol. Works great tho. Thought I'd share it in a few spots here since I spent tons on slings that all fail in some aspect on this setup style. So took advantage of the weird reciever loop and fed mine thru it and back thru with the loop. All Gen 1 evos should have it. If not use paracord maybe instead. But strike industries makes a 1913 adapter for 1913 braces with a nicely placed qd hole too btw. Then if ya setup with 1913 ya can share the brace on many pistols ya own and not have to buy 10 model specific braces. But I can even cross draw conceal this way if I want. Try it out folks(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210426/08c8ca3a42384a480e2feba642bedfea.jpg)
