Title: My 97B "E" is a laser
Post by: KME on November 24, 2017, 07:28:08 PM
2nd day in a row at the range with my 97B "E". I felt like I was Joe L shooting the center out of the target. The darn thing almost aims by itself.

After shooting the 97 I shot a hundred rounds through my Glock 19. That instantly reminded me what I crummy shot I really am.

Great!!  I just sent mine to CGW for the E conversion. Can?t wait to get it, but in no hurry to be humbled with my other pistols. I really am a lousy shot. :)

Sounds good, nothing like a real shooter!  Can somebody tell m how much CGW charges for their E conversion...?  Thinking about sending mine off to them...  Any reliability issues with the E conversions that folks have had done?

$625 for the E conversion.  No relibility issues at all.

I have 97-BE with a Burris Fastfire III.  It's my most accurate pistol.  LOVE the pistol.   I also have a Glock 17.  I don't shoot it at 50 yards to be able to provide a direct comparison, but I'm confident saying the 97 is the more accurate pistol.

HOWEVER, don't down the Glock.  ;)   Mechanical accuracy/precision on Glocks is outstanding.  It's the trigger mechanism that sucks.  I installed a Ghost Inc EVO trigger on mine, which requires hand-fitting, and it's a very good trigger now.  It will never be as good as the trigger on my 75 ShadowLine or my 97BE, but it's a very good trigger.   A better trigger will help your Glock automatically.  And if you have a Glock problem with your Glock shooting wide left -- a common Glock problem -- a Lonewolf locking block may outright fix it.   Give it some thought.  ;)

Don't get me wrong, I think the world of my Gen3 19. In fact, I shoot my 19 more than any other pistol because the consistency of a striker fired pistol makes practicing self defense shooting easier for me. I have competition style holsters for my SP-01 and D PCR but for me, drawing and shooting one handed at 5-10 yards is easier with my G19.

Got mine back this week for the E-conversion. Looking forward to my next range trip. They put a 13# recoil spring in. Anyone know what weight spring came from the factory?

20lb is the standard OEM main spring.

Much appreciated. That is quite a difference.
