I have the CZ Pro Tek 1 from CZ Customs and want to change out the front sight to the trijicon. From what I have read, the sight height is 5.5m. I know I have to tap out the drive pin with a 2mm Sight punch to remove the old sight, but why do I need to drill anything if I am going back with this sight and a new drive pin for that same gun? I don't have a drill press so I don't want to make a mistake. Any sight changers out there can answer this? Thanks.

Anyone ever change out their front sight on Pro Tek 1, or PCR?

I had CZ Custom replace the white Trijicon front sight with a gold Trijicon on my CZC Pro-Tek 1.
The removed sight and the new one are both 6.5mm sights.

I don't know about the ProTech but the new front sight may not be pre-drilled for the pin. A drill bit and instructions for hand drilling the sight are available on the CZ Custom sight and here with a search. Most just use a padded vise and a hand drill using the slide's pin hole as the guide after in stalling the new sight.
The trijicon can be damaged with a punch strike, so a sight pusher is recommended.
