Local store here in the states got a few of these in in great shape. M44s and the 91/30s, all surveyed had great bores and ugly wood. For $109 I was thinking about grabbing one of the 91/30s. Just hate the thought of all that cosmoline... but do like the thought of cheap ammo!!!

Read down through this forum area a bit more, and you'll find a long series of messages about M/N.
That cheap ammo is corrosive -- so be sure to follow the proper procedures after you use it. (Windex works wonders...)

Found it, good info
Thanks
think I'll grab a 91/30 tomarrow and put one of the 44's on Lay-a-way

Make sure it is in excellent condition - there are tons of excellent rearsenalled condition Mosins all over, so don't let a gunshop/pawnshop sell you a hacked out POS for $100, when Century has like new for less.
I have one Mosin right now, an M38, and had two 91.30s that I was forced to sell, and they are great fun rifles! the Polish ammo is the bee knees right now, with 440 rounds from J&G being less than $50 shipped.
Be warned, inexpensive rifles that work well, look great, and good cheap ammo spell one thing...addiction...you will want more....
www.russian-mosin-nagant-.../index.php (http://www.russian-mosin-nagant-forums.com/smf/index.php) Go here for LOTS more good Mosin info - don't ask how to Bubba it there, though - that is highly frowned on. Tons of good info.

Went to pick up the 91/30 I was eyeing, got there as they were unloading some 44's and 38's. One of the 38's had an awesome laminate stock along with a great bore so I snagged that instead. After a good cleaning I went to my range to find out the local PD had the range for qualifying day... bleep bleep bleep bleep
try again on Tuesday, next chance I'll have...

Also picked up an M48 Mauser in prestine condition while I was there...
