Title: Problem with a Kahr P9...
Post by: Walt-Sherrill on January 17, 2006, 06:57:28 PM
I mentioned in another message chain that I was having problems with a new (to me) Kahr P9.  The mags suddenly stopped staying in the grip.

I checked the mag release, which is polymer, and it looked pretty ragged.

I sent an email to Kahr about the problem, and asked how to get a replacement.  (I gave them my address.)  On the 10th...

I didn't hear back, so emailed them again, today.

Got home from work, there was the mag release, free.  No comments, but good instructions on how to install it.  Took about 15 seconds.  The new one seems to be reinforced with a metal insert.

Good service, quick turnaround.  I'm pleased, again.

Now that's what I like to hear.  Unquestioned replacement parts with no hassle from Kahr.  Keltec has a plastic mag catch in their Sub2K carbines (and possibly in their pocket carry pistols also), but to date have had no problems with it.  Once, I broke a plastic front sight while shooting the Sub2K. It just shattered during range fire.  Called em, and they sent a package of eight au gratis.  If I ever need a mag catch, I'm pretty confident the service will be the same.  Great when a company stands behind what they sell.
