Title: CZs and sight manufacturers
Post by: ernie_h on January 27, 2018, 11:59:34 AM
Not saying anything new, but I wish CZs would get a little more respect from some of the sight manufacturers. Except for a few notable exceptions (CGW, CZ Custom, Dawson come to mind)......it's really a crap-shoot whether a well-known manufacturer has the sight you want and one that does not require cutting the slide (unless, of course, it's a G gun or 1911). Was looking for some night sights for a P-01 and a Phantom....I've tried a number of sights over the years....mepros, CGW, CZ custom....and they're fine, but I've wanted to try the Trijicon HDs or the similar TruGLo Tritium Pros (not a fan of the f/o + tritium, but I understand why folks like 'em)....grrrr...no joy. Kind of hard to understand, given the popularity of (in particular) the HDs if you look around the web. Maybe with the popularity of the P-10C, perhaps CZ will start getting a little more respect :-) Heck, even Canik gets more respect on the Tritium Pros!.At least I can put 'em on my Walthers.

On an up note, I did email Trijicon and TruGlo about availability of the HDs and Tritium Pros, respectively. Both were going to forward my email to the folks upstairs and the folks in engineering. Trijicon in particular noted that my email would add to the "...GROWING list of requests to support CZ pistols." [their caps, not mine]. It's all driven by demand, so keep up the good work an keep sending the requests. In the meantime, will probably end up going with CGW or CZ Custom sights that use a similar concept [again, these are fine sights, so I'm not complaining....just some things about the others I think might be a little better for my eyes].

Mods....not sure if this belongs in the Gunsmithing or General Discussion board. Please move to appropriate forum. Thanks!

Nice write up there. I'm fairly new to the CZ world, but with several handguns coming, I'm very interested in what works best in the sight topic. Thanks for sharing.

I'm a big fan of Ameriglo i-Dots on my Glock. I emailed them about CZ sight availability and they pretty much said they don't have any interest.

I'm with you on the I-dots.....prefer 1 dot rears as in the Heine's.

I've had my 75b for 2 years, and stopped shopping for sights shortly after I bought the pistol. I sort of forgot about sight shopping until recently, and in 2 years not much has changed. The options are still the same (for reference, when I started the TFX had just released/or was about to be)

I've spoken with Ameriglo. They are a more dynamic company than TRIJICON in this regard. You may wish to contact them. The more the better.

I'd love a set of Glock FBI contract sights (with the Lumi-Green front as opposed to Day-Glo Orange) on my P-07.

FYI......contacted AmeriGlo this morning....they replied shortly afterwards (like ~15 minutes!)....although the time frame is approx., the good news is that they are actively developing CZ sights.

Hello Ernie,

Thank you for your interest in AmeriGlo Firearm Sights.  Yes, we hope to have the CZ pistols sights made in about 3 mos.  I am not sure which AmeriGlo models will be first at this time.

Thank you for your patience and support of AmeriGlo.

Wonder if it will be for the 75 series, P-series or both?

I am also a big fan of Amerglo Pro-Glo fronts and that's disappointing to hear.  For two of my CZ's, fiber optic front/black rear is fine because they are competition guns, but I would love a hi-viz coloreds front sight ring for my POCR, which I carry.  I have the Mepros, which work fine and I can shoot well with them, but the Pro Glo fronts really pop out and pick up fast on my other guns.  I might just carefully color my front sight around the edges of the  tritium.

You would think that with CZ's becoming more popular they'd want to capitalize.

Aha!  Nice!  Really hope they do Pro Glos.....they don't have them for every make.

I email Trijicon every year and every year they tell me they are adding my email to the Growing list. I've also emailed Ameriglo recently and they said they had no interest, glad to see they changed their minds.
However, maybe we're going about this the wrong way. Maybe we should be emailing CZ and asking them to use a more popular sight cut?

Really has nothing to do with the cut, many dovetails vary across the spectrum of brands. The demand is just not high enough for them to produce CZ sights as of yet. Mepro lite and Trijicon are making some sights and CGW and CZ-Custom have some good options as well.
