Title: CZ P07 - Barrel issue? Please pass your finger...
Post by: Strongarm on February 14, 2018, 03:05:24 AM
Hello

I have a  CZ P07 2nd Gen 9mm Luger. I've shot about 300 shots with it since I get it new. But today I was cleaning the gun and I notice that the barrel, outside, in the top part of the chamber is not completely flat, If I pass my finger, it feels like there's a little bumpy in the middle.

It's barely noticeable, but there is... Just in the middle of the chamber, in the top outside, the part that is expossed from the ejection port

Is this normal in P07/P09 or should I take it to repair. It's a brand new gun. Would you pass your finger over the chamber top of your gun and tell me if a little bump is present?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Best regards

I bump/hump in the long flat part that is visible when the slide is all the way forward?

Or the transition at the front of that long flat spot where it locks up against the slide?

I have it on both my P07s and my P09. No need for concern, it is perfectly normal.

Best regards.

My P-07 in .40 S&W is very similar to yours. What makes it look worse than it is, is the way the slide rubs that part of the barrel/chamber producing a bit of a line. As others have said - all is well - now go out and shoot the darn thing!!!    :-)

Great news ... I know what you say, the slide rubs that part and produce a line there... but my concern was more about the bump ... so is it normal?  (sorry if ask this too much but if it's not the same in all P07/P09 that could be a future crack)

Best Regards

Nothing at all wrong with that barrel. My P-07 looks identical and has nearly 10K rounds fired now.

My P07 is the same. My hump actually shows wearing on the finish.

Like everyone says, it's normal but I give my opinion on why it exists.
It is relieved so that when the slide cycles the chamber of the barrel will move downwards. Having this relief ensures that it can do so without too much contact/friction against the ejection port of the slide.

I believe in some guns they relieve the slide instead of the barrel (or both)
