Title: .40 Rami out of production?
Post by: GST709 on February 15, 2018, 09:09:41 PM
Hi all, I'm new to the forum, just bought my first CZ (Rami 9mm), so sorry if this has been asked before....

Is the Rami in .40 no longer in production?  I don't see it listed in the CZ-USA 2018 catalog and their website links back to the 9mm models when I select Rami .40.

I take that as a bad sign, but I'm hoping to be wrong.  I really like the Rami for its size and alloy construction so I would like one in .40 as well.  I really can't stand all the polymer frame pistols in the subcompact market and that's what sets the Rami apart.

The CZ 2075 RAMI in 40 S&W was discontinued a little more than a year ago.  I never heard why it was discontinued but the 40 S&W RAMI came with 7&1 or 8&1 round magazines.  I guess that people wanted a higher round capacity?

If I could, I would consider buying another 40 S&W RAMI.  I have fun at the range with mine.  Something about an all metal Sub Compact appeals to me.

With that said, "Where is the P-10S" in 40 S&W?   ;D ;D ;D ;D

Yeah, the P-06 and the all steel Compact, both in .40 S&W, went out of production about that time as well.

Actually, I think if CZ had offered these pistols in .357 SIG, they'd have sold A LOT more than they did in .40 S&W.

At near .357 Magnum power, the .357 SIG is much preferable to the .40 and doesn't kick all that much more than a +P 9mm load (IMO).

My nephew has been looking for a .40 S&W Rami and the gun shows for over a year.  We don't always see a Rami when we walk through, but when we do, they've been 9mm.

It seems that all the gun forums, web guru's, etc. have killed off the .40 S&W. Ever since the FBI moved back to 9 mm from the .40 everybody is saying it's a dead cartridge. My personal EDC is a .40 RAMI and I have 75B and a 40B both in .40 S&W too. I've always liked the round.

Unfortunate.  The .40 S&W is very much my preferred round for SD.  I'd like to find a good subcompact in .40 for EDC in a metal alloy frame.

I'm sure you could find one if you search GunBroker. I found no shortage of RAMI .40 when I was trying to buy a 9mm BD.

Just ro mention that the .40 Rami is like the 9mm with alloy frame, not steel.

My LGS just got one of these in. I commented that it was the first one I'd seen in person and the owner said they had been discontinued. If it had been a BD it would have come home with me....

This is the reply I got from CZ USA when I asked about continued .40 Rami and P-06 production:

"While anything is possible down the road, we have no plans to reintroduce the P-06, and many of our .40 models have been discontinued in recent years to allow us to focus production on more in-demand models. Please let us know if you have any further questions along the way!

I was afraid CZ would curtail the production of their traditional metal DA / SA models in favor of their recent foray into Glocktardation with the P-10....
