have a like new smith-wesson s.s. 38 with 3 inch barrel, its the model 64-5, can anyone give me an idea of what it should sell for?
-
$200 - $350, depending on condition and butt style (round or square) and the need of the next buyer to have one.
The last one I bought cost me $250, but it was really tricked out, had a wonderful trigger with trigger stop installed, chamfered cyclinder, bobbed hammer, and was super accurate. It also came with a good IWB holster. (It was 3", with square butt. The round butts are a little more sought-after for CCW use, but don't always get more money.)

thanks Walt, guess i'll hold onto it if all i can get is a couple of hundred, just shoots to sweet and trigger is a dream, thanks for the info!

I just looked in the Fjestad Blue Book -- maybe a year old -- and it shows $275 for a gun in 98% condition. $10 premium for HEAVY barrel. Mine had the heavy barrel.

Jim:
If you like shooting it and it shoots well, its worth more keeping with the many hours of lifetime pleasure it will give you, unless its a cash crunch scenario.

my 38 also is heavy barrel so guess i'll just offer to swap with anyone who has a 9mm worth about the same and want to trade out with me, thanks guys for the input! Sooooo, anyone interested? LOL

You need to post a picture, or offer a better description, and put it all in the classified area. People looking for guns will look there.
