Mine looks very close to this: (http://www.fulton-armory.com/Classic-II-Rifle-500_50.jpg)
Although the lower is a standard Bushmaster, the upper is the Fulton ARmory Classic FAR-15A2.

Ooooh! Ooooh! Did someone mention ARs???
A 24" Varmint AR built from a J&T kit, with an Eagle Arms lower, RRA 2-stage trigger modified to break at 1.5 lbs., and a Simmons 6.5-20x50 scope. With my 75 gr. handloads, this rifle is fully capable of sub-1" groups at 200 yards.
Same AR as above, different perspective.
A 20" A3, built with an RRA upper, DPMS barrel, Bushmaster buttstock, Eagle Arms lower with RRA internals, and a 2-stage trigger modified to break at 1.5 lbs. A real "mutt" if there ever was one.
I have a few other ARs, including a couple of M4geries, that I currently do not have images of.
The Black Rifle Disease is pretty contagious!

Nice Varmint Rig, dleong!
Built a few AR15A2's back around 1987 and kept one of them. It is built on a PacWest Lower with mostly Rock River Arms Parts and a heavy FN Barrel with a 1:9 twist. Smith Enterprise Muzzle brake. Has a 2.5x Scope attached to the carry handle. No Pics as my Pic host is moving to a new server, but I will post them later, should the host become available.
Currently, I'm refurbishing the Bolt with a E.G.R.E.S.S. Bolt Upgrade Kit from CMMG. Has a single Gas Ring, Extractor D-Ring, and Chrome Silicon Extractor and Ejector Springs. cmmginc.secure-mall.com/s...13&cat=29& (http://cmmginc.secure-mall.com/shop/index.php?shop=1&cart=177613&cat=29&)

Plan to build another later on with A4 upper, free float handguard, 18 or 20 inch heavy fluted barrel similar to the Tactical MK12 Mod 0 SPR series currently in use by SOF. May use an LMT upper. www.thegunzone.com/556faq-nb.html (http://www.thegunzone.com/556faq-nb.html)

jwc007,
Thank you, sir!
It sounds like you are going to have a pretty sweet AR once you have put it together.
If you'd like, I can host the image for you on my webspace. Just e-mail the image to me at dlwh AT charter DOT net.

You're Welcome, dleong! Thanks for the offer on the Pic! Host should be available soon, as they are in the process of reloading all of the old files/pics, of which my AR is one of them.
Yep, the new one probably will be a sweet machine, when built! It's in the planning stage.
Added a link to my original post that explains a bit about the Mk12 Mod 0 Special Purpose Rifles currently being used in Afghanistan and Iraq, by Squad Designated Marksman. There was an article in Shotgun News about their use and a test of a Civilian Version.

Sorry for the grainy pic..
This is my Bushmaster XM15 E2S M4 flatop, I chose to stick with the A2 stock over the telestock.
It has been flawless, and the bushmaster y-comp muzzle break is terrible on your ears, but it works great.
Looking into CQB optics now, can't decide though.

Here is an image of two of my 16" ARs:
The top AR features an RRA 16" upper assembly with mid-length handguards and a "tactical" carry handle mated to an Eagle Arms lower with an RRA 2-stage trigger and a rather forlorn-looking DPMS A2 buttstock. A2 flashhider and Hogue grip but no bayo lug.
The bottom AR has a complete Stag Arms 16" M4-style upper assembly with an ARMS #40 flip-up rear sight. The lower is again an Eagle Arms receiver with RRA internals and a 2-stage trigger. The 6-position telestock is by RRA. First Samco G27 grip.
The RRA 2-stage triggers in both ARs have been modified to break at about 1.5 lbs.
As you can see, I like my ARs pretty basic.

David,
I am terrible at identifying rifles: is that a Mosin-Nagant next to your Bushy?
DL
-
Probably a Norinco SKS.
-
It's Russian, It is stamped 1952r on the receiver cover, with the Tula factory stamp.
This rifle is the best steal I've ever had. I found it at a yard sale, $50. no joke.
The only thing that I've replaced is the handguard cover, the original was split in several places. It definitely needs a refinish on the stock.

Thanx to dleong for hosting my AR15A2 Pic. It will be anther week before my host, Hunt101.com gets it's archives loaded back in.

AR15A2, built on Pac West Arms Reciever. Rock River internals and upper reciever, FN Barrel with 1:9 twist, Smith Enterprises Muzzle Brake. 2.5x Simmons Scope on Delta Mount.

Very Nice A2 Dissipator Style Carbine there, vit15! Reminds me of the M16A1 Dissipator Carbine conversions done towards the end of the Vietnam War, like the one pictured below from Hunt101.

DPMS M4, YHM handguards, YHM VFG (shortened, recontoured, polished, and ball milled), Phantom FH, YHM BUIS, EOTech 552 w/YHM Thumbscrew on LaRue EOTech mount, PRI "Big Latch", Hogue grip, Pentagon X2-HA in Viking Tactical mount, Redi-mag, DPMS ambi-selector...

What is the advantage of the Phantom versus A2 attachment?
-
The Phantom YHM28 is designed more for CQB and the serrated prongs leave nasty marks/bruises.
From their site:
This suppressor virtually eliminates flash and provides excellent performance with night vision. Incorporated into the design is the ability to use the suppressor in hand-to-hand situations. Precision CNC machined and finished with a mil. spec. phosphate coating. Includes washer.

jwc007,

Vit15,
That particular Dissipator was a conversion performed by it's owner on a basic AR15 SP, who used an actual M16 version during his service.
Historically, the M16 Dissipator conversions happened to a number of M16's towards the last year of the Vietnam War and were primarily for Urban Combat, being shorter and handier within Buidings and Apartment Complexes. Some also saw Jungle usage as the South Vietnamese liked them quite well.
These conversions were performed by local armorers, which involved shortening the barrel, rethreading the end of the barrel for the flash suppressor, and enlarging the barrel gas port as the shorter barrel does not provide the same amount of gas pressure at that point. Some (but not all) of the current A2 Dissipator Carbines tap gas at the middle of the barrel instead, as is done on the M4 style carbines.
-
What is the advantage of the Phantom versus A2 attachment?
The Phantom, when permanently attached to a 14.5" barrel, will give you a legal 16" barrel.

EOTech 552 w/YHM Thumbscrew on LaRue EOTech mount
Hey Stasher1, you like that EOTech? I like to keep things simple, but my eyes are telling me they need just a bit of help. How is your accuracy with it?
--
Mike
-
My accuracy hasn't changed, but my speed has. The EOTech is the fastest optic I've ever used. Both eyes open, focused on the target, with the reticle where you want the bullet to go. No worrying about cheek weld or eye relief. Pick it up, point and shoot. You'll really notice the difference on moving targets. Just ask the DEA.

Here is an image of my latest AR build:
It is a 16" RRA midlength post-ban upper assembly mated to a DPMS lower with RRA internals and a 2-stage NM trigger with a 1.5 lb. break. The buttstock is a generic 6-position collapsible unit.
On a whim, I purchased a $25 BSA red dot sight from Wallyworld and mounted it atop the tactical carry handle. At that price, I was not really expecting much from it (read disposable); it was a b!tch to adjust, but once zeroed, the sight was able to hold sub-4" groups at 100 yards with my reloads. To me, that proved two things:
1. You cannot judge the quality of a product by its price, and
2. Chinese prison labor can put out good products.
(Just kidding on #2 above!
)
