Here is where I shoot.www.antelopeclub.org/ (http://www.antelopeclub.org/)
I am a member there. Membership is annual.
Feel free to surf the site. We have 10 yrd, 15 yrd, 25ryd, 50 yd, and 100 yard lines. Its one of the best facilities in the nation and only 30 minutes from my house.

I've yet to join a private club, but I'm in the process of researching a few here in Central OH. When I shoot outdoors, I can usually be found at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Woodbury Range. It's 55 miles east of me near Coshocton, OH. Archery, shotgun, pistol and rifle. There are 55 covered shooting postions spread across 4 ranges: 25, 50, 100 and 200 yards. The positions are either wood benches or concrete. If I remeber to take the camera with me tomorrow, I'l post some pictures of the place.

Found some pictures:
Looking over the Shotgun area to the 200 yard range (part of the 100 yard range is behind the maintenance shed):

Not bad for $24 a year.

I frequent several Rifle Ranges, but do not have pics or Websites for them, as yet.

That looks like a nice facility. Very nice indeed.
A really great vacation would be to travel the CCW reciprocity states with mine and try out all the ranges in an RV vacation, now thats something to think about for retirement.
-
I shoot out in the desert and at a range that is about 5min from my house or at an indoor range at impact guns or the state has a very nice range about 30 min away by Logan Utah.
-
We should consider ourselves fortunate to live in these areas where shooting facilities are plentiful., some folks in other areas cannot shoot handguns at all.
-
My Dad lives in Indiana and he is a member of a great range. They even have a 500yrd rifle range with the burm you stand behind and mark the targets like in Sgt York. I had more fun standing behind the burm or pit and hearing the bullets go over than when I was shooting. Those mobile 2mile radios come in handy for helping people spot.

I'm surrounded by a combination of public land and a 100 acre farm. The guy who owns the farm is a shooter, and he's built a very nice bench, plus berms at 25, 50 and 100 yards - and it's all only a couple hundred yards from my back door.
So I'm there anytime I want to play with guns.

My IDPA club shoots at the Grandview Range. Its nice to be able to shoot year-round, during the snow, during the rain storms, etc. (I have an annual membership, and our IDPA club member have a special arrangement with the club that allows us to shoot 3 times a week in off hours, shooting reloads, and from the holster, neither of which is allowed for general members.)
Its a modest range: 8 lanes of 50' (but we can expand it to 20 yards for the IDPA Classifier.)

Its open until 8pm on weekdays, You gotta love it!

Our club has Sunday mornings, Monday Afternoons, and Friday nights (after closing) to shoot as long as we want... Only a couple of us have keys, and we open, cleanup and close. The range is under new management, and as the various keyholders leave, I expect the arrangement to change.
Its worked well for the last several years.
-
Ours is good like that also and range officers have keys afterhours and I can go anytime I want, and the local police range is open until 9pm ,(Mondays 8pm, nobody feels accurate on a Monday. (*_*)LOL)
Our fees are $180 the first year and $110 subsequent years.
we have IDPA, SASS, and everything else you can imagine. The great thing about membership is that you can shoot all day for $3 and your guests for $5 (non members), the general public is $15/day.

I usually go to Ben Avery, fantastic facility run by the state of AZ. Most of the range folks are volunteers, and are very focused on helping you have a safe and fun time. You can tell from the web site, they are family oriented from top to bottom.Trap, Skeet, Smallbore, Practical Pistol, Class 3, Blackpowder, Long range, Silhouette, if it goes bang, they have a dedicated range for it. Last year it was voted in as a State of Arizona Point of Pride.

I also enjoy going out into the desert for informal shoots with my buddies, but the days of Open Range being 20 minutes from your home are long gone and finding those spots is taking more and more planning as the years progress.

Thats a nice facility.

I really prefer to shoot outside and set up my own little targets. Luckily, my wife's family has about a 3000 acre piece of dirt on Bear Lake's shore in Utah. Over the years I have set up concrete pads at various positions and ranges. The terrain is both flat and mountainous, so real world shooting (hunting) is easily simulated and I never have to worry about the other guy.
On indoor ranges, this year is the first year I shot in one (Doug's shoot'n'sports, SLC, UT) and the ease of shooting was great, just different.
I will try to post some pics of the 3000 acre shooting range.

That would be great to see. You bring up a good point. I have struck a balance between outdoor informal shooting and well regulated indoor and structured competition shooting. I enjoy both. I find that the structured shooting helps me shoot better recreationally on a casual basis. One builds a foundation for the other. Its a great thing when you think about it.

The indoor range just highly irked me, so this is the little outdoor range we go to. Nice, quiet, 100 yard range, nothing special, $4 to shoot all day, no running water, pit toilets, and we love it. Never full, never busy, nice people shoot here...

A very nice facility you have there. Kinda looks like Area 51 from the air. LOL
Its good to have choices, but heck, some folks live in states where they can't shoot at all. I have access to several police ranges, plus an oudoor NRA facility, We should never take that for granted.
There was a time when rifle shooting was taken up by every red blooded American boy and ranges were in every town. Now its a sad state of affairs. , with the Boy Scouts and other youth groups being attacked for promoting firearms safety and outdoor responsibility.
