Title: My first P07
Post by: nickshawn on March 06, 2018, 09:53:32 PM
Picked up a P-07 as part of a trade and must say that just handling it around the house I'm impressed. Not sure if it matters or not but this is one of the older versions without the replaceable backstrap. The DA is pretty heavy but smooth and the SA is really light for a stock gun. Taking it to the range tomorrow to see how she does with some live rounds.

Your first P07 is the first P07 (Duty). Please let us know how she handles.

Best regards.

My P07 is the older DUTY version, too.  Factory stock inside.  3&1/4 lb. SA trigger and about 8.5 lb. DA trigger pull.

It is what started me on the CZ road.  So reliable and accurate (and feels good in my hand) that it lead to a P09, another P09, several CZ 75 Compacts, etc., etc.

I bet you'll enjoy it.

Had measured mine last night and came up with very similar numbers.  Loaded up and ready for the range today so we'll see how it goes.

Should have noted that I have, or have had, all the other CZ versions. I'm just late to the P series game.....  :)

Most STOCK P07s I've seen recently have over 10 LB trigger pulls and are anything but smooth.  I handled many at a recent gunshow.  I've handled some in the past at LGS's that seemed smooth enough and not as heavy.  My 'first' started in something north of 15-16 and gritty and stagy as Hades.

So, if yours is 8.5 LB stock - you have an amazing gun.

Just put the CGW firing pin retaining pin, reduced power firing pin block spring and reduced power trigger return spring in mine and did just a bit of stoning on a couple pieces.  Cleaned it up (easy with all the parts lying on the towel), lubed it, put it back together and now I had a 3 lb. SA trigger pull.  Don't have quite as much of a solid "stop" in the trigger pull as it had before.  I could easily feel everything come to stop just before the trigger pull began to lift the front of the sear.  Now it's still there, but "lighter."  My trigger finger will have to get to know the trigger pull on my DUTY P07 all over again.

100 flawless rounds, as one would expect from a CZ  :)

Really impressed with this gun and it's probably going to be a keeper (took it in on a trade with the plan to sell at some point)

Really accurate and smooth, I could do with the RRK, reset is fine but I think you have to do both to get the reach reduction.

Anyway, overall thoroughly impressed and happy with it. Bonus points for my P10C mags working in it  :)
