Title: Help! CGW propackge post install is break in needed ?operation & accuracy efct?
Post by: cswann821 on March 13, 2018, 06:21:03 PM
Hello all,

I just completed my first DIY pro-package install kit from CGW on my CZ 75B which I plan to shoot 3 gun with, blue main spring...reach reduction kit, adjustable sear(pretty sure i did this correctly: Manual safety functions as it should), trigger pre and post travel adjusted to awesome and I performed some minor polishing.

So today I brought her to the range to test out and wanted to describe how she functioned to get any input on, if what I experienced was just "break in" of the new springs/hardware or if it could be something else I should look into.

So I placed a full mag in her, Charged the slide to load my first round and cock the hammer, Pulled the trigger...Boom...first round shot...second squeeze of the trigger, I hear the trigger reset occur, but NO BOOM. I then pull the hammer back all the way and squeeze trigger.... next round fires, following trigger squeeze no boom again...but again I am hearing the trigger reset click. This process keeps repeating.
Once I got into my second or 3rd magazine of repeating this process, this issue started to gradually happen less and then disappeared entirely and my CZ shot and functioned as it should. I shot about 60 rounds today and was impressed with how the SA trigger pull seemed/felt amazingly lighter than before the kit install! (I like)

So what do you think? Am I correct to assume that new main spring/hardware needs a certain amount of rounds shot for break in? Ill probably need a hundred more rounds through her to be sure or for good break in???

I also had placed those XS DXT Big round sights on, I am not sure I like them. My POI was a lot higher than my POA shooting from a bench at 10 yards and about 20 yards. I am thinking of taking them off and going with the fully adjustable rear and front night sight? Thinking about it now, if the new upgrade kit needs break in? This could affect accuracy correct?

Thanks,
Chris.

Tech support:

318-372-9050 or 318-614-7003

Simple as that.

Yes I did loktite everything. Ill check it for sure though. Why do you think it would have resolved itself ?...maybe it backed out due to vibrations caused by firing ? Over Travel screw is the bottom screw on the trigger correct?

Tech support thinks.. that its probably break in and or I may need the 12lb(red) recoil spring. One thing we discussed is that after the first shot, I do remember thinking and looking at the hammer that seemed to be not all the way back. So for what ever reason...break in of new parts, a piece of lint/dirt(Don't think its this... I did a big cleaning), cold grease/oil or not enough of it...low ammo load, the slide was initially not flying back to re-cock the hammer all the way. So Firing more and more rounds, could have eventually cleaned out, loosened, fitted into place all the parts from the completed disassembly/reassembly...eventually working. If It happens again, the lighter recoil spring, or hotter loads was recommended.

I'll still look at the over travel screw as well when I get home.

OK, your original post didn't say anything about the hammer not being fully back - makes sense now.

yes, only when tech support asked if the hammer looked "half" cocked did it hit me that it wasn't fully going back...and heanse why I would have to recock the hammer (described in my initial post) after hearing the reset click.

Thanks for the phone numbers btw.
