Title: Grip tape on slide?
Post by: Crossfaced on March 20, 2018, 05:58:16 PM
I?m new to CZs. In the past I?ve shot M&Ps and Glocks. With my CZ Shadow 2, even with the 11# recoil spring, I am having a heck of a time racking the slide. This is made worse because on Jan 5th I had surgery on my weak side hand for damaged tendons. Needless to say I?m weak right now. I can rack the slide on my M&P ok but not the Shadow. It?s tough.

So my question is, with the new USPSA Production rules, can I put Grip tape on my slide? I just can?t get a good purchase on it with the smooth narrow slide.

Thanks

I pull the slide back using the front serrations.

I grab the sides of the rear sight to rack the slide.

You should be allowed to cock the hammer and then rack the slide.  That will make it a lot easier for you.

A combination of my hand getting stronger and a few rounds through it loosened it up nice. It?s easy now and smooth. Thanks for the replies.

To answer the original question, no, you can't put grip tape on the slide in Production.  Glad you got it figured out though!
