Maybe this has been posted before but just noticed. Saw a 17 manufactured 07 locally and noticed it has some shinny (silver/SS) possible pin in the extractor towards the rear. What is this and when did they start this?

I have a P-07 made in 2016 that does not have the pin and I have a P-07 made in 2017 that does have it. LOL, I never even noticed they were different.

This pin pokes out when a cartridge is loaded since the rear surface of the extractor is pushed inwards, by loading the chamber. Therefore this pin is actually a loaded chamber indicator, which, if I am not mistaken, is a requirement for all pistols to have in some States in USA.

Good to know. Thanks

Yeah, looking at the brass case rim between the slide and barrel/chamber doesn't work in the dark.
To this day I wonder how people cannot know whether or not the pistol they carry every day is loaded.

Hmmmm, I wonder if there's one in the chamber? You better know you're right!
