I am in the market for a CZ handguns and have narrowed it down to the P09 and the P-10c. Anyone have both of these models and which do you prefer? This will be a range/ bedside/ 4wheeler riding gun as i have several glocks i carry. I will get CZC and Cajun parts put in them along with CZ custom Htac sights. Thanks for any help

The P-09 is rather large. It's great to shoot but difficult to conceal. It's a very accurate pistol, tops
The P-10C is easy to shoot well and is ideally sized for carrying. It is also very accurate.
I like them both equally.

The P10C compares more directly to the P-07. Do you prefer strikers over hammers? For home defense, I like the magazine capacity of the P-09, but CZ Custom offers a P-09 mag/basepad that works with the shorter P10 grip and adds +2 for a total of 21 plus another in the chamber.

For what you're looking to do, I'd pick the P-09 all day. The only way the P-10C is better over the P-09 IMO is it's smaller for carry.
-
I have two P-07's and a P10c. The P-07 is about the same size as the P10. I love all of them but my P-07's are my go to guns.
-
If you're a Glock fan then you're gonna love the P-10c. I've carried Glocks for years, but I love the P-10c so much more as it's more accurate than the Glock, a heckuva lot more ergonomic, with a nicer, crisper trigger pull. The size of the P-10c falls in between a G17 and a G19.
That being said, I love the P-07 and P-09 even more than my P-10c. After years of carrying a striker-fired pistol, I've come to appreciate the safety that a DA/SA pistol provides with the long first trigger pull (with the lighter SA follow up shots). The P-07s and P-09s are super egonomic too and feel great in the hand. Like others said above, the compact P-10c compares more favorably with the P-07 in size. The P-09 has quickly become my favorite pistol of all time. Love it. But it definitely is a pretty big pistol (a bit larger than a G17) so if you're going to try to conceal it, I think the P-07 would definitely be easier to hide. But for all else, I'd choose my P-09 first! But you can't go wrong with wither of the 3. They're all awesome. Glad that you're checking out the lesser-known CZ line. You won't be disappointed.
I know you said you have Glocks to carry, but I think there's a good chance that once you buy and shoot your CZ, you're going to want to carry it instead of your Glock.
-
I have both and like them both. Based on what you said the pistol will be for, it sounds like the P09 would work best. Assuming of course, you would be OK with DA/SA. If you prefer striker fire pistols, then the P10 C is what you want.
Best regards.

My choice would be for a P-07/P-09 over the P-10c ... but I am a self-avowed TDA/hammer fan ;-)
-
Never owned a P-07 but I absolutely love my P-10.
-
Reading your post, and seeing that concealed carry is'nt part of you're planned useage, I'd get the P-09.. with CGW parts in it, you can't go wrong, you should end up with a excellant handgun..
-
I had a P-09 for years but recently traded it on an FNX-45. It was a nice shooter. The P-09 handles recoil very well and I thought the trigger was pretty good. It is pretty big, not FNX-45 big.. but it feels a lot larger than a P-10C.
The P-10C is a great pistol. I've added a trigger, a striker and springs but from day one that pistol has been just plain fun to shoot. I'm up over 2200 rounds with only a single FTE, which was experienced by a first time shooter. I think it was a case of limp wrist but that's here nor there.
I would absolutely pick the P-10C. It's the flattest shooter in the compact 9mm segment, in my experience. The hype and hiccups with this pistol makes it subject to a wide range of opinions. However, I can say nothing but great things. Great accuracy, reliable, excellent recoil mitigation, A+ ergonomics.. the list goes on.
-
Of the two choices you gave, I would pick the P-10c over the P-09.
Of the choice you didn't give, I would pick the P-07 over the P-10c. O0

Time to try the hammer to see what you've been missing -- P09!
-
Looks like you're getting answers across the board.
From your statement, you said you have several Glocks for carry, then you don't need another carry gun, if you did then go with the P10c, love mine. But, if you want a great shooter, a larger defensive bedside and OWB gun, then the P09 is the way to go. Mine shoots about as well as the SP01, and that's saying a lot.
For your needs, it sounds you're needing a P09.

For your needs, I would go for the PO9.
-
I own both. For your intended purposes I'd go with the P-09.

You guys aren't making it any easier for me :)
I want both but don't have the cash right now so i have to go with one.
I have actually had both in the past and regrete selling them and want to get one back.
The P-10c i sold last year was because of the stories of stuff going wrong and it scared me i guess. Ut seems the newer models have less issues. I loved the way it shot but didn't like the aggressive texture but can deal with it.
The P09 was a great shooter and like the ergo's and 19+1 capacity but it is big and holsters are harder to find cost more to cajunize but is a proven design
-
Here are my plans for whichever i get
P-10c
Cajun or HBI trigger
Czc htac rear sight and tritium front
CGW striker and spring
P-09
Full CGW pro kit
CZC H-TAC tritium sight set
P10c mags are cheaper and there is less parts to customize which means less $ to spend
-
P10 mags will work in the P-07. Most of the newer P-07's come with mags that work in the P10. The only difference I see in the P10 and the new P-07 mag is the base plate, but both of my P-07's and my P10 mags will all interchange.

This discussion is not about the P07.

Short and correct answer: get both 8)
Less short answer:
P09 for the purposes you mention
P10c if you intend to use as a carry gun

I would say P-09 as the range/HD/open carry on the 4-wheeler gun and then a P-07 for concealed carry.
This approach gives you one manual of arms to master and remember under stress... and you have the same ergonomics on both guns.
Had I not gone the route of using a stealth comp and extended mag base plates on my P- 07s I would have added a P-09 by now.

Agreed, as it applies to one manual of arms. My answer was framed in response to the OP asking between the P09 and P10c. That said, I still believe the correct answer is to get both. Then, once that has been accomplished to acquire a P-07 to satisfy the voracious need to have more CZs! O0

i would go for the P09. it will work great for all you want to do with it, and as far as pricey modifications, a spring kit and some polishing is more than enough. (Untill you can't help it but to upgrade more. :P )
-
Go to a range were you can shoot both and buy the one you shoot better.
-
Riding an ATV. Not carrying concealed, not a lot of walking/hiking. Not carrying a rifle/carbine?
The P09 has a bigger selection of aftermarket parts to improve its function/smoothness.
The P09 has a larger magazine capacity.
The P09 probably has a larger available selection of holsters.
The P09 has been out longer and has gotten past any "teething issues" common to new products (whether guns or cars).

I have 2 P07s, 2 P09s and 2 (maybe 3 after this weekend) P10Cs. One each P07 and P09 have been Cajunized as have both P10Cs. It really depends on personal preference as to what you should get. I prefer the P10Cs for carry because of the trigger feel. For range time, it's a toss up. Love the Cajunized P07 or P09 trigger but then again, I really like that tactile feel to the P10C trigger. My P09s are mainly used for HD as they are not as comfortable for carry for me.
You cannot really go wrong with any of them. The only caveat there is that you can run the P09 mags in a P10C (if later style) and P07, but you cannot run P10C or P07 mags in a P09, so you lose a bit of versatility with the larger guns.
-
Nothing I own or have borrowed shoots more accurately than a my P-09. Nothing.
But I like the size of the P-10C and P-07. If you have had both and don't really have a preference, I'd probably just get the P-10C. You can always trade it for a P-09 if you want a larger gun. I think if I had gotten a P-07 or P-10C first, I may not have ever wanted a P-09. Instead, I have two, one with a red dot and one with iron sights. But I just like 4" pistols. CZ pistols, that is.

For your stated purposes, P-09 all the way.
-
If you are not going to carry then I would go with the CZ P-09.
Love mine!

I know you folks are all trying to help O0, but we need to pay attention to the OP's qaundry.
"I am in the market for a CZ handguns" Notice he says 'handguns' plural! Narrowing it down to one is just an admission that he probably won't buy both at the same time.
The other subconscious cry for help is this: "i have several glocks i carry". Obviously he's not satisfied with Glock or he wouldn't carry more than one. Switching from one Glock to another shows lack of confidence in Glock. So to solve the OP's real problem (and that's what we are all here for, right? ;D) we need to address his real need.
So, the best advice we can give is some variation of this: Find a rectangular-shaped storage space on your 4-wheeler to store the Glocks. They should both fit nicely in a square space. Then carry the superb CZ P-07 :) And then if you don't want two handguns that can use the same magazine or you have only a little money left, you could skip over the CZ P-10C and just get a Canik TP9 Elite with the fantastic trigger. That inexpensive striker-fired gun will break the Glock cycle that is the root of all your problems.
PS: I still have my Glock 17 with all its aftermarket innards in place. And I still shoot it too. It shoots OK, but CZ's and Canik's are both way more fun.
