Title: CZ Sterling

I am considering a CZ Sterling over under  12ga with 30" barrel. are there any owner that would care to provide their opinion? I really like CZ pistols but have no experience with their shotguns. My use will be sporting clays,5 station, maybe a bit of skeet and trap. Maybe 700 rds per year.

Unfortunately, this forum has never been very strong in the Shotgun line that CZ imports.

Your best place for information on them is the Huglu forum at shotgunworld.com.  Huglu is the Turkish company that manufactures the shotguns for CZ.

Thanks Jamie. I decided to get the CZ Sterling Southpaw. If I make a mistake, it won?t be the first.

I don't think you will regret getting the CZ.  I've handled quite a few at work.  The over/unders and side by sides seem to be a fine, quality product.  Their pumps and semis seem a little cheap to me, and they have to be to compete in those markets.

Keep us posted on your results!  There have been a few CZ's come through the store that I wish I would have purchased, particularly the Canvasback in 20 and 28 ga.

I went to the club for a few rounds of 5 stand. I cleaned the CZ Sterling Southpaw out of the box and after shooting and had a  chance to get a good look at all the components. Quality and fit look very good. Performance at the range was excellent and the fit changed my mind about sending the stock out for an adjustable comb. I will keep it stock. The gun is tight which is typical for a new o/u and both from appearance and function, I would say it is on the same level as my Citori. Durability will be determined later on but based on the quality of the components I do not expect an issue. My skepticism is gone and I look forward to many years of use. PS: my Beretta Mobil choke tubes are compatible and I can switch back and forth. Good stuff!
