Title: Need advice to mount reflex optic on a Scorpion Carbine

I've never shot with a red dot or reflex optic before.  I was given a RMR to try on my carbine.  Regarding placement on the rail, how far forward is it recommended to be?

Over the ejection port is a good starting point.
