Title: Completely Impractical But Fun Project
Post by: mrcabinet on May 12, 2018, 08:02:21 PM
My son gave me a Gat Crank for Christmas - that device that looks like a fishing reel crank that clamps on to a trigger guard. It happens to be a completely impractical toy that makes you giggle like a little girl when using it on a 10/22 with a 30 rd. magazine. I used it on my "nice" 10/22 a couple times but decided I didn't want to subject it to that abuse anymore.

I ran across a rusty old 10/22 with a cracked stock at my favorite Gun & Pawn that was perfect for a dedicated Gat Gun. $75 OTD. I started cleaning it up and, well, I got a little carried away.

I had a folding stock for a Mossberg 500 that I didn't have anymore that fit remarkably well. Cut 2" off the barrel, slapped some ugly UTG sights on it and a cheap flash hider from flea bay. Completely impractical but really fun!

Anyone considering something like this check your state laws as they are not legal in a lot of states..

Larry -

I'm curious as to what states this would be illegal in. Even though it meets all Federal requirements, I certainly wouldn't want to take it someplace where I shouldn't.
