Title: Gregcote CZ Magazine..In Stock
Post by: 1SOW on May 19, 2018, 09:55:56 PM
CZ has come out with a newly designed CZ Compact, CZ P-01, CZ PCR 15 round 9mm The magazine can also be used in the CZ P-06 .40 S&W. This magazine holds 11 rounds of .40 S&W instead of 10 rounds. The magazine is similar to the CZ factory Shadow 2 17 round magazine. One side of the magazine has witness holes numbered to 15 for the 9mm. The other side of the magazines has witness holes numbered to 11 for the CZ P-06 .40 S&W. The magazine holds and extra round and has a polymer base plate that fits flush with the grip. No more sharp metal base plate that many find uncomfortable when shooting.

I saw this the other day... I may just have to get one

I've been using a Canik Stingray C magazine that holds 15 rounds, but this one sounds better (Canik has small gap when inserted). I've often wondered about magazines that can be used for both 9mm and .40 - it seems to me the feed lips gap must not be that important?

While I've not used a "hybrid" magazine I have used 9mm magazines for .40 S&W in an M&P FS pistol.  We've also used 9MM Beretta magazines for .40 S&W in a Beretta 90-Two.  Both worked fine.  The .40 S&W round appears to sit lower in the magazine (due to the smaller slot size in the 9MM magazines.  The slide seems to pick them up just fine anyway, but we've only done this at the range.  There is a reason the manufacturers design/supply different magazines.

Yeah, I figured that either the 9mm rounds would sit higher or the .40 rounds would sit lower - or both (as compared to mags dedicated to each caliber) in the case of a compromise gapping. I have mistakenly used both 9mm magazines in .40 guns and vice versa with no problems on rare occasions.

I've been using the 16 round +2 magazines in my P-01.  Really like them, not much longer than the 14 rounders, and so far 100%. Are the new 15 round more flush?

Thanks 1SOW for the 'heads-up'.
I answered my own question.
Yes, the new 15 round mags are more flush. I have the MecGar on my P-07/09, they look and function very nice.
