I have a feeling I know what this forum will tell me but I am still going to ask the question. I have a Ruger SR1911 Talo Night Watchman Lightweight Commander, model 6720 (man what a mouthful) that I am not overly attached to, just recently acquired it and it is just okay. I also have my SP-01, safety version, that I am really attached to. I have been offered a lightly used SP-01 Tactical as a trade for the Ruger and I am kind of leaning towards yes but not overly certain yet. What say you all, would you make the trade?

Depends on trade value, but I don't keep guns if I don't like them.

I?d do it in a heart beat. But I?m just not a huge fan of the Ruger 1911

Fairly equal trade value. They have a fairly good fan base. Ruger owners love them, but 1911 owners in general not so much.

What Earl said.

I used to be bad about just holding onto guns I had acquired whether I loved them or not, then when I finally parted with one to get something I really had a hankering for, realized that it didn?t hurt like I thought it would lol. Other than some older out-of-production or sentimental guns inherited, they are easily replaced down the road if you decide you want that model again.
That Ruger 1911 is no exception. Unlike others have mentioned though, IMO the Ruger SR1911 is a very good 1911 to own and shoot! Much better (again MY opinion) than most modern production Colts. I?ve had 4 or 5 SR1911?s and I do have other brands that cost easily 3-4 times as much, but I can?t HONESTLY say they shoot 4-5 times more accurately, they DO look and feel much nicer tho :) IMHO, the SR1911 is the best entry level 1911 made (and 70-series too).
I have nothing but GREAT things to say about ALL CZ hammer-fired guns I own. Have a CZ-97B ?E? conversion that will outshoot ANY $3000-$4000 1911 I?ve owned or shot.
I think you know which gun you?d rather have and can?t fault that choice at all. You can always get another SR1911 later, it?s been known to happen :)
