You can always spots scam on Armslist. On Ingo people give ratings and feedback.

Most of us have been here a while and you get a feel for who people are. New people you have to make a judgement call. I've yet to see someone here complain of being taken. It's rather impressive now that I think about it.

Yep, but caveat emptor.
We will co-operate fully with the authorities should some 'member' scam another, but it's seldom, if ever, necessary.

never had a problem and made new friends in the transaction..!

So basically this is a great site. So once an agreement is reached payment is sent then the item is sent
Ok thanks

Just curious, Ingo?

Honestly, post count is one indicator... I am a bit wary of "drive-by" sellers.

I will give you example of what happened to me here.
Not long ago I bought used RAMI from the guy here who had one post only.
In communication with him I raised this question : How can I trust you when you have one post only ?
His answer was straight : You don't have to trust me at all.
I have to take the gun to some dealer, who you will pay for the gun and that dealer will ship the gun to your dealer.
Why would you have to trust me ?
After checking on his dealer - all seemed legit to me. I called the dealer, gave them my credit card number, they shipped the gun to my dealer, and it all ended up well, for both parties.
Hope this helps.

Obviously this sounds like a behind the scenes deal unless the rules have changed you need 25 posts minimum to sell in the classifieds on this forum.

No, I didn't explain well enough.
I was the one placing the add looking to buy RAMI.
That guy with one comment contacted me via PM, and that's how it started.
Sorry for bringing up the confusion.
-
That makes sense. That's for clarifying that.

greed makes people stupid.
so if its too good to be true, you should know what to do.

This is OK. It's posting the 'WTS' that is not permitted with less than 25 posts. Answering a 'WTB' is totally fine.

I?ve always had fantastic transactions with the folks here. I do wish there was a feedback system. I thought about putting names of people I?ve had deals with as my signature as a sort of reference page. Then I thought maybe those people don?t want there names in my signature.

when I sell an item on this sight. I try to communicate as much as possible with him or her [usually a him] sometimes I will take pics of how I prepare there package before shipping and send it to them. I always tell them when I shipped out and provide a tracking number as well
-
All things that should be required.
I belong to many forums, this is the least active and most difficult to sell anything on I belong too.

I'd wait until he has at least 8000. O0

I don't post often but visit often. I've purchased a few items off the Classifieds here and have always had pleasant experiences interacting with forum members. I can't say that about all the other gun forums I frequent.
