Title: Dawson front sight height for P09 Kadet slide

Hi folks

Want to upgrade the front sight on my P09 Kadet kit to a Dawson fiber optic one.  The stock rear one is OK.

Question: what height of the front blade should i buy? It is not the same as the regular 9mm P09 sight.
Alternatively, what Dawson fixed sights set (front and rear) would work on that slide?

Good question, i do not know. I may need to get a replacement front for my P-09 Kadet at some point. I look forward to other forum members answers.

All you should have to do is remove the front sight and measure it's total height, subtract 0.070"*** from that, and then you should have the proper height over the slide to place your order with Dawson.

***(You should also confirm for yourself that the P-09 Kadet's front sight dovetail is indeed 0.070" deep.)

Just an update for those looking for answers to this topic as i was.

This is what you're looking for if you need a fiber optic sight for your P09 Kadet slide:

Dawson Precision CZ P09 Fiber Optic Front Sights  .135" Tall x .100" Wide Patridge Serrated SKU 019-089
I installed this sight and the POI was pretty much dead on. Looks perfect.

For the rear sight - the P10C rear cut looked identical to P09 Kadet.  So I ordered this rear sight and will be installing it this weekend:

I have Dawson?s on all of my CZ?s, I just had one installed on my TS. When I called and spoke with the Dawson rep he told me to always measure the sight before ordering. I sent to them for a couple of different reasons and what they installed was different than what I had read I needed.

They dont have anything specifically for the P09 Kadet... I reached out to them directly as well - they've never had a Kadet in shop.  So i measured and ordered that P09 front sight (see my earlier post) that was very close to the one that came on the Kadet.  Worked out perfectly.

Update on the rear sight: The dovetail cut on the P09 Kadet seems identical to the P10C - Dawson P10C rear sight slid in with solid pressure and no damage or modifications. However, it is a bit short both height and length.  One 'could' still use it with the right height front blade.  But i removed it and put the original Kadet rear sight back - it's good enough.

I also tried test fitting the CZ Custom P10C multi optic plate to the Kadet - it seemed a bit tight but i think would work.  I'll explore that option as an RFPO Steel Challenge set up later.

Hi there,

I would like to mount an optic on my CZ P-09 Kadet.
I have read some people saying that it may be possible to do this with a P10C optic mount.
Has anyone tried this or is there a better way?
