Title: CZ full size SA/DA .40 cal Guidance Please
Post by: kcb on July 14, 2018, 04:51:34 PM
Hello all,
So, I am a fan of DA/SA pistols as well as a few striker models. I own quite a few. I am not reall a fan of SA only anymore. I bought my first CZ recently. It is a CZB SA .40, I bought it used and it came originally fro CZ Custom. I only shoot .40 and own one .45.
I absolutely  LOVE this gun for many reasons. What I am looking to learn is this( since I am a a noobie to CZ)

I really would like to get a .40 full size in DA/SA with a decocker IE BD. I would prefer to have the same weight and balance of the frame of a B model rather than a rail or longer frame. Unlike the SP_01 Tactical. Did CZ ever make a  75BD in 40? If not, is it possible to use a 75BD frame and use a slide from another model? Or use a 9MM frame and slide but a .40 barrel?
I know Sigs very well and know that a .40 can go to .357 or 9 but not a 9 going up. Maybe CZ is the same? Any guidance to help me get there would be greatly appreciated.

I am not aware of a 75BD in .40sw. It may exist on the secondary market though as CZ has made many a pistol that then were discontinued for one reason or another.

You can take a 40 slide and barrel and put it on a 9mm BD frame, and of course you would need to use 40 mags.

You cannot take a 40 barrel and put it into a 9mm slide, the breach face is too small on a 9mm slide to accommodate the 40 case.
