Title: Building a Parts Kit for P-01
Post by: DefendSchools on September 01, 2018, 04:51:50 PM
Hi guys and gals. I just ordered my first CZ, a P-01. I am thinking about creating a small parts kit and was wondering what you would recommend stocking in it. I did my own trigger job on a Smith and Wesson and my try installing the Pro pack and who knows what else or time. Thanks.

Slide stop - never broken one but people here have.
Extractor - never had to replace one but folks here say they'll wear out after 10,000 rounds or so.
Springs - mostly trigger return spring, extractor spring.  I haven't heard of anyone breaking a hammer or recoil spring but the recoil springs do need to be replaced at some round count (might get some discussion about just how many rounds fired should equal a recoil spring change.)

I have spare parts from a couple sources/reasons.
1.  I just bought some spare springs, pins, parts as spares and have never used them.
2.  I upgraded some parts on some of my pistols and saved the parts I replaced as spares (hammers, triggers, sears, safeties, springs, sights, etc.)

In the thousands of rounds I put through my P-01, the only thing i replaced was the grips and the recoil spring.

Also buy lifter springs if you ever intend to do a full strip. Or work in a very white room with no carpet.
