Personally, I think the benefits of the reciprocating charging handle slightly outweigh its drawbacks. However, has anybody considered an after market solution like the one below for the SCAR to convert it to a non-reciprocating action?

The best solution I've seen is what CZ did with the Bren 2 charging handle. They use a carrier that can connect to the bolt. This disconnects when bolt is in the closed position, making it non-reciprocating, then when moved back manually, the carrier catches into the bolt, making it a reciprocating handle, allowing it to be used as a bolt close device.(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180910/116f93a75baf4b21e2c7cbe292e35f9e.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180910/80a0e7adca3038e49ab9d22dced114d1.jpg)

Nice!
Looks like a great solution. A 805 upgrade kit with something similar would make an excellent stocking stuffer for Christmas 2019.
Thanks for sharing the pics.
