Looking for your input..... to help my output down range

Personally, I LOVE the Shadow 2. For what you are proposing to use it for, I think it would be stellar. What I do not know, is how broad a selection of appropriate holsters there are for them.

Hello from Oklahoma.

Good reading here for thread earlier this year: https://czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=87418.0
I could be wrong, but I don't think the S2 is production legal for IDPA due to weight restriction.

Shadow 2 is not legal in IDPA. I?d go SP01 Shadow or Shadow to play both.

If you go with the SP-01 model, you might want to consider a safety model as opposed to the de-cocker. The action on them can be upgraded easier than the decockers from what I hear (less complicated internals). If you decide to run in limited, you can start cocked and locked just like a 1911 and get that sweet SA first pull, if you like that sort of thing.

CZ TSO!
Out of the box, a tack driver with very little recoil.

I didn?t get from your question that you were using it in competition, so if that?s not what you need it for, you should check the P-01, SP-01, and 75b(d). The P-01 and SP-01 use different manufacturing than the 75b series and are alloy framed. They are in theory better spec?d for reliability. The 75b is all steel and heavier. It shoots very nicely and in my hands is 100% reliable. They?re all really good, so if you like CZs you might end up with at least two, if not more, so you should pick based on what you want it for and what shoots the best for you.
I can?t speak for the competition variants but I believe they?re all variants of the SP-01. You can have a standard SP-01 modified for legal use in some of the competitions. Look at Cajun Gun Works (they made mine smooth and accurate as butter and vastly improved the trigger and extended the mag release) or CZ Custom. Not that you can?t do the same with the others but the SP-01 seems to have the most mods easily available to my knowledge. Other competitive shooters I?m sure will chime in on that.
IMHO you can?t go wrong with ANY of the CZ models.
Maybe for more targeted feedback you can say what you want to do with it.

Or if you want to shoot 45, check out the 97 but knowing it?s for people comfortable with a pretty big gun. They shoot very soft and are quite accurate. It works for me with the extended mag release so I don?t have to awkwardly change my grip to drop a mag.

The SP-01 is steel framed.

Sorry, yes, it?s steel.

There are so many variations - not even counting the short run stuff like the "SP-01 Compact" - it's hard to keep them all straight!

For CC/defense, the P-01 is a sweet, sweet pistol. One gun for BOTH IDPA & USPSA, the SP-01 (safety version) is probably the better selection. Both are great shooters.
