Title: Made in Peru CZ
Post by: czchczch on September 28, 2018, 12:40:06 PM
Hi. I have a doubt about the CZ 75 pistols series, especifically interested in the CZ 75 B and CZ 75 B Omega

I recently found that some CZ are made in Peru, by FAME.

With 20% component made locally.

I know that in the FAME site is listed the P-09, P-07 ans SP-01 shadow, but they could use these platforms to develop also the CZ 75 B and CZ 75 B Omega.

I live in Chile, so there are posibilities that we get the Peruan made instead the Czech.

The question:

There is a way to know if a new CZ was made in the Czech Republic or in Peru, like a mark, serial number, the box itself, etc.?

Thanks, Joseph.

The close up picture of the CZ P-09 shows "Assembled in FAME-PERU".
That would be the only way to tell apart the Peruvian vs CZ handguns, but how much is made or even assembled in Peru would still be a mystery, until the factory tell us more about it.

A gun documentary that I saw some time ago explained that due to import restrictions in some South American countries, the best way to get guns there was to make an agreement with the original gun manufacturer to produce guns abroad.  The original manufacturer usually sends some quality technicians to the remote facility to ensure that they are made up to the company's standards.

Since it says assembled in I'm guessing we can assume to some degree that it is assembled with CZ original parts.
