I have a wonderful pair of pistols I bought several years ago. They are Compact Custom L models. I've shot one quite a bit, it is wonderfully accurate and easy to shoot. After purchasing these pistols, I never saw them advertised or in a store again, which tells me either the owners love them, there were very few made, or both. My questions are, does anyone have any history on the evolution of this particular gun, and can a decocker be installed on one?
Any feedback is welcome. Thanks!

It is very rare. I?m not sure the exact number I heard 20 but I could be wrong. But I also have a compact L model 91724 and I enjoy it. But I have a couple p01?s and I would never carry the compact L. So she collects dust. I recently received an offer for her and I just might jump.
If you search this forum there is a older post about compact L?s. 3 different models.

Thanks. I will search again. Mine are the traditional da/sa models with the beautiful wooden grips. I couldn't decide between the full or half-checkered grips, so I bought both guns. I'm glad I did.

I?m guessing you have 91727

cocobolo wood grips

Yes, that's exactly what they are, thanks. The listing said there were 100 made, so I guess I got lucky. The guns actually make me look like a good shot. Go figure.

There were three variations:
91727
Shadow hammer fitted to Comp L
15# hammer spring
SS guide rod
tritium night sights
cocobolo wood grips.
91728
Shadow hammer fitted to Comp L
15# hammer spring
SS guide rod
tritium night sights
black al grips.
91724
Comp hammer
13# hammer
ext. firing pin
SS guide rod
tritium night sights
rubber grips
The first two were available through CZ USA and the last was distributed through CZ Cistom. I have a 91724 which I absolutely love.
