Title: thinking really hard about a P-10F
Post by: Beamy85 on April 04, 2019, 08:04:04 PM
Guys who have them how do you like them?

I'm thinking one would go well with my P-07 and P-09

Handled one today and if I was into SF, this would be it!  Superb trigger, great grip, no mag release problem, HD sights, and RDC ready.  Great gun!

I dont have much experience with polymer striker fired pistols. I bought the p10f expectecting to maybe see what all the fuss was about. I may be in the minority but polymer guns have yet go grow on me. Two things in particular: 1. Trigger feels clunky and cheap compared to my metal framed cz's (mine breaks at 6#'s-not the 4.5#'s ive seen in others reviews) 2. The slide to frame fit at lockup. Mine is the same as my P09. if you squeeze the top of the slide and the bottom of the acessory rail on the frame, there is quite a bit of play between the two at the muzzle. both are still very accurate, but it just bothers me. Also, the p10f seems to have more felt recoil than my p09 as well.
Now the pros:
1. I got the optics ready version. This is a first for me and my old eyes are loving the burris fastfire.
2. Its an ergonomic glock. I've never owned a glock but gazillions of other folks do. what do i know?
3. P10f mags work in your P09 but not the other way around
4. I put a 4# glock striker spring (with glock keepers) in mine and it improved the trigger pull weight dramatically and its been reliable thus far. Good deep hits on cci/winchester/federal primers everytime(so far)
5. MADE IN USA
6. Grip texture is outstanding for a polymer gun
7. Its a laser beam. i aint there yet with polymer/strikers but if any gun is gonna change my mind, this may be the one

They look great, I will say after playing with one it is one big piece. Must lend well in recoil

The grip is just way too long, it looks like it should hold about 25 rounds.

Seems it would be a great, affordable competition gun with a few Cajun tweaks to it. Even just stock it would run awesome. The P09 is a great option too.

just picked it up on Friday afternoon. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet but I must say I'm pretty impressed.

It's BIG, granted it's about the same size as my P-09 which is also big.

Design wise there is no way the P-10 series weren't designed around the .40S&W because they seem very overbuilt for a 9mm.

In some ways it's very Glock like yet in others like the firing pin block very different.

Like the P-09 I'm really loving the 19+1 round capacity. While my older 09 magazines don't work in the 10 the opposite is true and I do have two 21rd magazines that I bought in the fall that work on both pistols. I'll probably pick up a few more 19rd magazines now that the prices seem to be coming down.

While these will never kill the Glock I will say that CZ made one hell of a striker fired pistol.

I gave in and went to Bud's in Lexington, yesterday, to pick up an all black P10F.
Went to the range the same day and shot the gun. Mind you, I was just so used to my Steyr L9 that the F had some shoes filling to do.
Well, I liked the grip, even so it's too long. Once you grip it, it won't let you go. Maybe a bit much, but I liked it.
The trigger was a bit gritty, but was light and sharp. But my shooting was not that good yesterday. I gave up shooting it after just 75 rounds and went home.
This morning, I did quite a bit of dry firing and felt I had a better understanding of the trigger, so I went back to the range.
To my surprise, everything fell into place. I was smiling like a 5 years old at Xmas time. The P10F shot better than any other polymer frame I have shot. AS GOOD AS MY SP-01, and that's saying a lot. No other gun has been that good (to me).
I have shot some fair guns, Some good ones and some very good ones, but one that is exceptionally good, and that I can "connect with", like my CZ 75, this is very rare, for me this gun, the P10F, is just perfect. I think my search for THE polymer handgun is over.

Bought a P10F and had the grip stippled, HBI trigger w/ reduced power striker spring, Dawson Target rear and F/0 front sight.

Absolutely LOVE this gun!
