Title: RMR on 1911 without using trijicon sight plate
Post by: joedirt199 on October 27, 2019, 08:11:59 PM
Trying to find someone that can do the rmr on my 1911 but not utilize the trijicon night sight rear plate. Wanting to do a separate all black rear sight and just use the plate for the rmr. Found a picture of one done, just lookingbto see who can do it. My go to guys, Primary Machine already said they can't do it. Here is the picture.

Chambers Custom has a plate that moves the iron sights forward of the optic if that's your preference.

^this.  It might not be the cheapest but it is well thought out very thought out and well tested - some of Chambers' more recent professional series guns utilize this system and have high round counts through them. It definitely would be my choice on a 1911, sights forward of optic has some nice advantages too.

I believe Hallston Custom will do the milling on a 1911.

Try L&M precision he makes his own custom mount before the rmr plate was available.  He is pretty known on the 1911 forums.  Also works on sigs and HK’s.  May cost a bit more due to the custom plate mounting setup but is very clean
