I remember a few years ago about all the hoopla surrounding the fantastic omega system. I did some reading up on it at the time, and my first thought was it's nowhere as robust as the current system.

The classic trigger system can be a bit more fidgety. The safety lever detents are small and spring loaded. The Mag Release Spring Screw is staked in place. The Sear Cage can throw you some curve balls when taking it in and out. The decockers Sear Cage is pinned into the frame. The only real tricky part about the Omegas is installing the decocker return spring.

All in all, i am of the opinion that the Omegas are more straight forward to work on but familiarity with either design goes a long way. I have allot less time working on Omegas so i find the need to use reference guides. I have the classic trigger system really locked in at this point. I think i have made just about every mistake that you can with the classics, at least it was fun.  :)

My first CZ was my DUTY P07 .40.

At the time I'd never hear the term Omega in reference to a pistol and had no idea what the action was like.  3&1/4 lb. SA with virtually no feel able creep once the wall is reached.  DA trigger pull was 8&1/2 lbs.  But I don't use it anyway.

Bought a P09 9MM.  A P09 .40.  The a Pre B CZ85 and that's when I found out some CZs aren't made like the P07/P09 pistols.  Either are good pistols.  The only CZ75's I have that have "nicer" triggers than the P07/P09 are the ones with aftermarket hammers and CGW adjustable sears.

That means I've had more CZ75 types apart than Omega pistols.

Complete reassembly of P-01 Omega in my case is about 10 minutes faster than CZ75 Compact.
Even decocker spring in Omega system is not a problem, once you know the trick.
I'm not picky with trigger pull or how crisp it is (I'm defensive shooter) so carrying and shooting Omega is a plus for me. Easy and fast cleaning.
