Title: Help selecting sights.
Post by: Mountaindrew on August 05, 2020, 01:00:51 PM
Help selecting sights.

I recently received a cz75b Omega with the thread barrel and raised night sights. I really like the bright white dots around the tritium inserts, unlike the daylight invisible dots on trijicon sights I've used. However, with the tall sights, it won't fit in holsters, so I want to replace the sights with normal hight, but keep a similar sight picture. What sights should I use? Also, should I look into buying a sight pusher, it are they doable with a drift punch? Any help from someone who has done this would be great, thanks.

Welcome Newb! Totally dig the name btw - I'm hooked on Liberty Brew.
So the threaded barrel guns normally come with taller supressor ready sights. so that you can still aim when a supressor is on. If you switch to normal sights you wont be able to use them with supressor.

As far as removing sights I've done it a few times and it hasn't been that bad comparatively speaking. I'm cheap and want to get it done now kind of guy so when it came to a sight pusher I used a short wood dowel with some sandpaper wrapped around it and stuffed inside a old 9mm case. It made a perfect soft sight punch- you can flip it for a brass end or wood end. Slide was in vise with old towels to protect frame. I do believe I tried the normal sized hammer first and had to go to a small sledge. Make sure you go the right way - it does matter. I forgot which way it is.

If you don't want those sights I might be interested in them.
Thanks, and good luck.
