I think it’s the same magazine for both.

the feed lip spacing is different

the front groove/depression is much longer on the 7.65 Browning/.32 Auto mags

7.65 mags also have a long groove pressed in near the back of the mag to deal with 7.65 being a semi-rimmed case and not a rimless like 9mm Browning Short or 9x18 Mak.

Magazines are interchangeable between the 9mm Mak vz82 and the 9mm Browning Short (.380) CZ 83.

Thanks.  I knew the 380 and mak where the same. Was hoping slight differences as i just bought an 83 in 32 and have an 83 with several mags in 380.

the semi-rimmed design on the early Browning designs (6.35mm, 7.65mm and .38 Super) makes magazines a little more complicated. Good thing that part of the design was abandoned by the time he made pistols for .45 Auto and .380

among other activities, I am also a photographer, and I know which side of the camera I belong on. Thankfully Anastasia looked exactly like my avatar when I photographed her several years ago.

Hello there,
having a massive issue with this... I bought a surplus CZ 83 9mm browning (.380ACP). I went to the range to find out that the magazine does not take the .380 ACP bullets but fits perfectly in the gun. So I could not use it. I am trying to get the vendor understand the situation.
Could it be that my CZ 83 was delivered with a 9mm Makarov charger? or a .32 ACP charger?

Here below a photo of the charger that came with the CZ 83 next to the .380 ACP charger of my Beretta 84.

This may help, or confuse you more. Mine has the squiggly (not flat) follower.
My CZ83 7.65 Browning (.32ACP) is ?eská zbrojovka Uherský Brod manufacture.
I had issues trying to get a magazine loader (for double stack), so I digital caliper measured mine.
CZ-83 .32ACP Magazine Dimensions
Width – 0.786” (19.96mm)
Length – 1.092” (27.74mm)
Between Cartridge Grip “Ears” – 0.296” (7.52mm)

can you post a picture of the side of the magazine? the magazines look very different side by side.

The .380 ACP (9x17mm) and 9mm Makarov (9x18mm) magazines are interchangeable.

Sorry for the response delay.
The only photos I had of my magazines were to resolve a vendor issue.
They were not with my CZ-83 photos (tons of 'em).
Then I have to figure out how to resize them to post - reading instructions every time.
On Rimfire Central, I just drop them in, and they're resized automatically.
A nice feature for an old guy.
I hope these are helpful.

From the shape of the ribs on the side of the magazine, that is definitely a 7.65 Browning (.32) mag.

I guess I just made it with the pics.
Never though a magazine true side view was important.

.380 ACP vs .32 ACP
The latter was delivered to me by mistake.
Finally got the .380 ACP today.
