Title: Looking for Czechmate guide rod
Post by: my00wrx1 on July 01, 2017, 07:17:26 AM
I have been unable to find a Czechmate guide rod, does anyone know where I can get one?

I've been racking my brain and  old records,  but I can't find the guy/company that makes stainless guide rods to your measurements.  I talked with him about 75b rod thicker than the factory plastic rods,  His prices were only slightly higher than factory rods.
If you don't find one,  maybe some of the old timers here will remember the guy's name that'll make you one.
I searched on line but no joy.

Thanks for the reply. The Czechmate has a steel guide rod which is 105 mm long where as I understand the guide rod on the TS is 95 mm long so that are not interchangeable.

Sorry if I gave you the wrong info,  but CZ USA lists the above rod under the Czechmate diagram and part number.
The best way to find one is to PM or call STUART from CZC and a member of the forum.
Hope one turns up.

Interesting. I just checked the guide rod in the used TacSport I bought and the guide rod only extends 75mm past the end flange.   :o

Ok, not sure why that is. I have a picture of an aftermarket TS guiderod next to a ruler which shows a full length of 95 mm.

Guiderod.com

He's made a few for me per my specs for my older Sig pistols.

EDIT:  Steve Bedair passed away from cancer in 2015. I had no idea.

Thanks for refreshing my memory.  "Steve Bedair" was the guy I was trying to recall in post #2.  I now remember he passed away.

He was another good guy to deal with.

Correct. I have quite a few guide rods that Steve milled. He once made one for my Browning BDA off of specs that I sent him. It came out perfect! May he rest in peace.
