I have a chance to buy a 97B in 45 ACP. Not sure price yet. Are there anything I should look for like extractor issues? Etc?
Are they good as the 75 9's and the p40 I have?
I like 45 ACP a lot but normally stick to 1911

Are you sure it isn?t a CZ97? They are 45ACP pistols. I?m only asking because I don?t think CZ 75s were ever made in 45ACP. There is a CZ97 sub-forum here and FWIW CZ97 45ACP pistols are very good.

I have both the 97B and 97BD. I highly recommend the 97 as one of the best .45 caliber pistols.

My bad, I corrected it.

To my knowledge other than the removable barrel bushing, the different lockup and the general frame diffrances, CZ 97's are very slimier mechanically to a CZ 75 variant.
Depending the the year of manufacture, the barrel may be worth taking a look at. I am unclear what year CZ updated the CZ 97 barrel but they did so due to feeding issues with some bullet shapes. The barrel design update fixed the issue from what i have read on the subject. Hopefully another forum member remembers what year CZ changed the barrel. From what i understand the older models will work with the updated barrels if one wishes to acquire an updated barrel.
Other than that it may be worth inspecting the barrel bushing. Though i do not believe that it is common, in some cases the factory barrel bushings could rotate loose under recoil and get damaged.
Here is a picture for reference regarding the CZ 97 barrel design change.

On your CZ97 while first cleaning it before going to the range, make sure that LCI (Loaded Chamber Indicator) is lock-tited!! Otherwise it will get lost, sometimes before you finish your first box of ammo.

Thanks a bunch for the updates

I believe that 97s manufactured in 2012 or later have the extended feed ramp on the barrel and a modified slide release that solved the hollow point feed issue. My 2013 97BD definitely has these features and also came with the thin aluminum grips. Having trouble googling a definitive answer to the question.
