Chrome plating refurbish
« on: October 14, 2018, 11:29:02 AM »
Ahooj,

Partialy inspired by the amazing re-conditionings carried out by members of this forum, I am now considering purchasing, if I can have it for a decent price,  this pre-b Cz75 to ?Mod? it, ie : trigger polish, spring etc...and to have it cosmetically re-furb in brushed chrome. The pistol comes with a cadet 22lr conversion.

So far, I only ever bought stock Cz in as good original condition as possible to keep them as such, but now have an urge for ?chrome? . I prefer brushed/matt/satin aspect .
Since I know nothing about chroming, I hope this is not a daft question...   ::). The frame being already chromed, what do you think should be best done ?

- Strip back both the slide and frame to bare metal and reapply a fresh finish ? Any risk of loosing the sharpness of the roll-mark ?

- Applying a chrome only on the slide and ?brushing? both to get homogeneous finish ?

- keeping it as a 2 tones, rebluing only the slide, the hammer  & the commands and brushing the existing chromed frame ?

Thanks for your help & advice .

Thanks VM Jackrather .  I live across the pond so I'll have to find a company to carry the job.
There is a full chrome late Pre-B for sale as well that I am considering . It is highly polished and very very shiny ... Might look at having it glass beads blasted to dull the finish.
