Detail stripping a PCR
« on: October 19, 2018, 09:42:22 PM »
Does anyone have a link to a good video or book that could help me through the detail stripping a PCR?

Check the stickied threads in the Gunsmith sub forum. There are posts with photos that cover how to detail strip a decocker.

I actually just brought home a PCR about 5 minutes ago. I will be detail stripping tomorrow to do some polishing and install some CGW parts.

The hardest part is removing the sear assembly. You have to make sure you remove the pin right to left. And take care or you'll lose the tiny springs inside.

Here are some of the better guides i have found. CZ75 Variant decockers are generally all the same inside. The alloy frames models and the RAMI use a Fixing insert (steel disk) for the left side sear cage pin stop. In the steel frames the sear cage pin goes through both side of the frame. So the guides can be used interchangeably for the most part.

I bought the armorers manual, it has lots of detailed pictures.

Lots of other forum posts and videos out there that are helpful.

Watch the little lifter spring in the sear. I've now either lost it or broke it every time I've disassembled the sear on my decocker models. Just broke one today on my PCR.

Word of warning:

If you pull the trigger (probably no need) the spring can shoot out.  The first time I did it, it hit me just below the eye, hard enough to draw blood.  I was not wearing safety glasses, and it could have been MUCH worse.  Do not be like me.  Wear safety glasses.  ;)

Watch the videos that were suggested, they?re very helpful.
There?s something so satisfying about being able to do your own improvements and having it turn out well.
Enjoy, and yes, wear safety glasses.

IDescribe, this is excellent! I got some cold indoor winter months coming up and a second PCR due to be delivered next week. The PCR is my favorite carry. When I get the second one for backup I will be using these links and video's all have shared with me here.
