Wear on mags?
« on: November 13, 2018, 03:44:54 PM »
I've noticed that nearly all of my factory mags have the same wear mark on the side of the mag opposite the ejection port (when loaded in gun). I have about 1000 rounds through the gun and it has operated pretty much trouble free. My main concern is how this may impact the durability of the mags. Does anyone else see this type of wear on their factory CZ mags? I'm trying to figure out if this is inherent to the design of the gun or just my gun. I have attached a photo.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Its normal_guy, from the bolt catch rubbing on the mag.

Thanks! That's good to know. I had looked at where the bolt catch meets the mag when it is in the removed lower and it looked like that was the possible culprit. I was just surprised since there is not a lot of motion between the two surfaces that it would cause the wear.

I've got over 7K rounds on my original 2 20's and 2 30's I picked up later when they became available.  No issues, although I expect dropping them on the concrete range floor during IDPA will have them break eventually, so I'll just send them back to cz for replacement.  I bought a case of 30's when they first became available thinking mags would be breaking with feed lip problems, but haven't had to dip into the extras yet.  While I consider mags to be disposable wear items long term, OEM mags are GTG just like any other OEM mags from a quality firearm manufacturer.
