Getting used to my 97...

And am really falling in love with this pistol, especially after installing a set of rubber grips.  No more 2x4, although a bit of palm swell would still be nice.  May be ordering a set of LOK palm swell grips after all.  But I'm rambling.

So like I said, I'm getting used to it, which means the honeymoon is ending, and I'm starting to notice things that are less than perfect.  I have no issues with the trigger pull weight, but there is a fair bit of creep in the SA pull.  I'm planning on giving it some Cajun love in the not too distant future, was hoping to do the full Pro Package, but may need to rein it back.  Is there anything else I can do that will specifically target reducing the creep, within busting the bank?  Thanks.

ETA: Okay, did some more poking around at CGW, just replacing the hammer, and possibly a new sear, should fix the creep.  Since there's no discount when ordering the package, I think this is where I'll start.  Later.

 I was shocked after installing a extended firing pin and a few lighter springs. The next to the lightest hammer spring still lights off Federal primers 100% and gave me a 7 3/4 lb. DA and a very nice SA. I've fired about 3000 rounds so far and the trigger feels better the more I shoot it.

Yeah, I know you did, but there's no way I can rationalize spending that much on a toy, just buying it was a stretch.  That said, I'm having a tough time talking myself into just going part way vs. ordering the full Pro Package, especially with the Black Friday sale on.  I mean, if I'm going to tear it down anyway, doesn't it make more sense doing it just once?  Especially when you factor in that my shooting season is coming to an end due to weather, if I can't shoot'em, then the next best thing is working on them, right  ?  This would be a no-brainer if I could sell even one of the guns I have on the market right now, but I'm feeling like I should exercise my tiny remaining vestige of responsibility and self control until one does...  Yeah, right  !  Later.

I agree. If you can?t shoot them, working on them is best. I would get the pro package!

Yeah, so much for responsibility and self control, I just placed my order for the Pro Package and a couple of other parts right after my last post  .  As good as CGW is with shipping, I expect to see it by the end of next week.  Between gun mods/upgrades and reloading, I just might make it through the winter without going totally stir crazy!  Later.

Parts arrived from CGW on Thursday, man, they do a nice job of getting stuff shipped!  Really want to get started, but I'm forcing myself to wait until my armorers manual arrives, it's supposed to be here Wednesday.  In the meantime, I'm loading test ammo for it with a variety of powders and bullets.  Should have quite the supply, especially as my shooting season could be over for the year, we haven't had much in the way of snow yet, but we have a cold snap coming, overnight lows in single digits, daytime highs only hitting the mid-teens.  Frozen hands and chattering teeth are definitely NOT conducive to best accuracy, and gloves just don't help that much at those kinds of temps.  Later.
