Would this be considered +P+ 9mm?
« on: December 11, 2018, 09:33:30 PM »
This was in a box of AE 9mm that my son bought. I'm still trying to figure out how they did this!

To Federal's credit, they did send him a box of ammo when he sent the photo to them.

That needs to go into a shadow box and mounted on the wall.

That's a strange mistake there.Luckily that likely wouldn't ever chamber in anything. Just out of curiosity what does the headstamp say?

Looks to me as if the holding device slipped just as the extractor groove was being cut into the case. It also looks like the case length is cut at the same time, so the case length might be longer than 0.748".

Machining mistakes like this happen once in every million pieces. As a mechanic I used to have a collection of weird nut and bolts that had escaped detection. Screws with no slot cut. Bolts with threads that didn't advance. Bolts and nuts with no threads. Poop just happens.

Good catch !    ;)

I don't know what the headstamp says, but it was in a box of Federal American Eagle 115 grn. Coincidentally, it turns out that this is the only brand that his 92fs doesn't like.

Good reason to buy a CZ!
If I had known how much better being retired is than working I would have done it FIRST.
