CZ P-10c failures to feed
« on: December 29, 2018, 07:54:07 AM »
I have about 400 rounds through my P-10c and up to now have had no issues (other than the incredibly tight slide lock and magazine release, which have not yet loosened up).

However, on my last range trip shooting 147 gr. reloads a problem emerged.

After shooting factory loads, I shifted to RMR 147 gr. flat-nose reloads.  (I was also shooting the same loads out of my Canik S-120 and Walther PPS M2 with no issues, and my P-07 works fine with them too). The gun functioned well for a couple of mags, but then it started failing to feed. After each shot the slide would lock back, rather than traveling forward to strip off and load a new cartridge. A stout slap to the bottom of the magazine would release the slide and chamber the round, but then after firing the slide would again lock back. After two magazines of this I threw in the towel. The P-10c had done fine with 115 gr and 124 gr factory ammo, so I'm attributing this to my reloads.

Mind this is not failure to chamber, the rounds chamber just fine.

I loaded these for the reduced recoil for plinking, but have not checked them with a chronograph yet (indoor range, they chrony themselves for a fee).

Anyone else have such an issue with their P-10c?

Similar issue using Federal 147 flat nose ammo. Only mine would just not feed. Had to either slap the bottom of the mag or strip the mag out so it would go back into battery. Five failures in 150 rounds. Could be the flat nose or the lower velocity of the 147 gr. ammo in the P10c. Use the same ammo in a G19 and Sig P320 with no issues.

It occurred to me after the fact that I should switch back to factory loads at 115 gr. and 124 gr. to double-check. This was the first time I have shot 147 gr. (factory or reload) out of the P-10c, and it has been fine with all factory bullet weights up to 135 gr., as well as reloads of 124 gr.
