Bren 2 BR, 7.62x51 NATO, New Article, Old Info:

https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2019/01/03/new-photos-cz-bren-2-br-in-7-62x51/

I did not notice any new info, I suspect Shot Show will be the source of new information.

Look closely at the micrometer adjustable rear sight! I have a B&T Pistol that is screaming out for a set of these! Not having even seen one of these, I feel pretty safe saying CZ has a hit on their hands with the 308.

Any info on these that I missed as far as expected dates? One of the few areas I am lacking is a semi auto 308 and these are definitely intriguing. Those with Brens if other calibers, are they hard on optics like the scars? From what I could find no additional info was given at shot unless my search skills just suck.

I'm playing the waiting game also. From what I could find out, CZ is waiting for the necessary permits from the Feds to be able to import the pistol form Bren 2. The government shutdown evidently slowed down the process. Now that the government is up and running (for a while anyway) maybe that part of things will speed up.

CZ is also changing the upper receiver on the Bren 2 with a shorter receiver to include a modular forend at the front which will supposedly come in different lengths to accommodate a can, a longer barrel, or other accessories down the road. The new version will differ from the approximately 300 Bren 2 military styled pistols that have already made it into the US.  From what I can gather, it's similar in theory anyway, to the forend used on the CZ Scorpion and can be changed to different lengths, or at least that's my understanding.

Unfortunately there are so many legal issues involved with the importation of a foreign made firearm that the process takes seemingly forever. Still everyone seems to think that the Bren 2 will start appearing in the US in the first quarter of 2019.  All we can do is wait and see.

Check out this link to CZ at Shot Show 2019. I don't know how reliable the information is, but at this point it's all we've got.

Of course the waiting sucks.  If it is any consolation, perhaps all these slight variations will create an excellent collectors market for all of us Bren fanatics  O0

Yeah, I hate the waiting. With the way you have been talking about your 805 and how much you like it, I'm trying to resist picking up one of those while I'm waiting for the  Bren 2 to be released.

I had found a great deal on one  just like yours with the CZ brace, FDE, and 11" barrel, but I waited too long and they're all gone. It looks like the supply of the Bren 805 is beginning to dry up. That should help to keep the resale value of the Bren 805 high.
