As for Magazines, stick with the Compact Baby Eagle/Compact Witness 13 round Magazines from Mec-Gar, and you should be good to go.

jwc007

Can you provide a link?  I'm looking over the mec gar site and I cannot find the models you mentioned....

Just picked up my own TZ 75 Government compact 9mm.  LNIB condition with paperwork.

CDNN has them quite reasonably, by todays standards:  http://www.cdnninvestments.com/eaacom9mm13s.html

Congratulations on that Tz75 Government!   :)  Sounds great in LNIB condition!  8)

Be sure to post a Range Report on it, complete with pics!  :)

Will do jwc007.  Just placed an order for the mags in your link and I'll report of their function as well.

Is there a "range report" section or do y'all just post in the regular CZ clone forum?  Still navigating....

The regular Cz Clone Forum area will do nicely!  :)

I know this is kinda lame but it's actually worked out great for the situation...

My wife "office" is in our home and she's home alone most of the time.  She only weighs around 115 lbs (not very big hands either) and this is the pistol she wanted as her "office pistol". It came with the typical smooth and THICK wood grips that were too thick for me as well.

I got creative one night and just pulled the grips off and slipped on a Pachmayr grip just for giggles and she LOVED it as the grip fits her perfectly.  The down side is that there is some exposed area of the pistols grip and the Pachmayr grip does put friction that can be felt during removal of the magazine.  To both of those issues I say who cares.  The pistol is kept in her drawer at her desk and with 14 rounds she isn't gonna be doing any speed loads in the house anyway and in fact it might help to reduce the chance of inadvertently dumping the mag.

Buy a set of Hogue fingergrooves for the full size CZ 75 and cut them down to fit.  The holes line up perfectly you just have to trim the bottom.  I have them on my compact and they work like a charm.  It should give her about the same grip without having any of the problems you noted with the grip sleeve.

Interesting!  8)  I have often thought of doing that and was wondering how it would work.  The Stock Rubber Grips on my Compact Series 88 TA90 are pretty fat and often keep me from carrying it. Next time I order some stuff, I'll see about getting another set of those Finger Groove Grips.  I already have the Hogue Fingergroove grips on three other Tanfoglio Pistols and like how they slim down the grip.  Thanx for posting this info!  :)

You're welcome.  My Compact wears Hogues all the time now.  I don't even have a set of BBQ grips for her anymore.  ;D

Got these the other day.  They look good and the price was right.  I threw a caliper on them and they are of nearly identical dimensions to the factory mag.  They do not stay in place, however, due to the mag retention slot (is there a real name for this?) being too narrow.  I'll start a different thread on a side by side comparison of them to the factory mag and my fix for making them work.  Not sure if it's been done before or not, but it'll be good experience for me.

Thanks again.

I've not done one yet for my Compact TA90, but I plan to, when I have time. I have bought the Grip, but it sits on my workbench.

The way I plan to go about it is to attach one side and see where the grip inset ends on the frame, mark that side and trim the inset, then do the other side.
After the inset on both sides is trimmed, the grip should attach even though it will hang over the bottom of the frame.
Then I will trim the Bottom of the Grips on the Frame, using the Frame as a Guide.  A Utility Razor Knife should work.

Sound like a great plan.  Just bought a set of hogue 75000's to do the same thing.  Let me know how it goes.  Thanks

For continuity of this Thread here is bimmerland's post from another thread, as I think it belongs in this one, more.

Just put a set of hogue 75000's on my cz75 compact.  After a little work with a dremel and a exacto knife they fit snugly and afford a better grip.

Sorry for the late response Birds Away but thanks for the info.

Just want to clarify the info-because the last posting talks about a "compact" CZ 75 but the picture looks like a pistol with a full sized grip and a "compact" upper.

The distance between the grip screw and the hammer pin of my compact is 1.875 inches and it's 2.160 inches on my "full sized" TZ 75 Series 88 small frame. The Hogue wrap-around grip that's on the full sized small frame is too long above AND below the grip screw to come close to fitting either the top or bottom half of the grip to the "compact" pistol shown in my pic.

Welcome to the Clone Side of czfirearms.us!  8)

Congratulations on your Tz75 Government!  As you have stated correctly, it is a Series 88 Design Tanfoglio Pistol!  As for Magazines, stick with the Compact Baby Eagle/Compact Witness 13 round Magazines from Mec-Gar, and you should be good to go.  Keep an eye on that Hammer Pin!

Picked up a TZ9GVTB also almost new in box back on the early 90?s love this compact series 88 Government TZ 75
